Please explain your reply. Just to be frank with you guys, I'm willing to order it without ESA, as:

- I consider the manual adjustment being more suitable / accurate.
- lower replacement cost

My main problem / concern the case I order it without ESA, is the front suspension which ... can not be adjusted ...!
No because the demo bike I rode didn't have the ride modes and I consider the throttle sensitivity to be completely ill-suited for any offroad use at all and not to my liking for on-road use.

Maybe BMW Motorrad has subcontracted the welding but they still have to have some kind of quality control of all the subframes no matter if they made them themselves or if it was made by subcontractors. This for sure does not look like German engineering.

Max :-)
I've seen better welds on a chinese made bicycle frame. Sad.

I was also told by my dealer and by a BMW rep at the regional motorcycle show that ESA was not available with the low suspension option.

Reading from the US launch guide:

499 Low Suspension, 31.1/31.9 inches (only w/191 Dynamic ESA, Incl 776) - $250

776 is Low seat, 32.3/33.1 inches, $0

191 is Dynamic ESA (only w/190) - $950

190 is Enduro ASC and Riding modes (only w/191, or packages 234, 237, or 238) - $450

It is the opposite

Select a basic R1200GS with NO Pack.

When you select Low Suspension in 'Equipment in Options'

ESA & ASC come automatically in the Bike Configurator

This was true for the old versions, for the 2013 low suspension is only available with ESA.

It was discussed. But if I remember correctly it was speculative. And its also a lesson that your dealer and even a company rep get it wrong once in a while. My dealer told me this only several weeks ago.

Ronald Regan once said "Trust. But verify."

I've not noticed particularly bad welds on my bike. Even if they are big, at least the bike won't fall apart

Thumb Jesse bags available April 15

http://www.jesseluggage.com

I have a set of panniers from my Explorer and they're same as what'll go on the new GS so I'm only in line for the luggage mounts.

No affiliation with the company. Just a satisfied customer.

been there, done that.....agree wholeheartedly, but for many, the ESA is good enough. i would not prefer a non-ESA suspended GS UNLESS an aftermarket suspension was being considered.
