Odd your dealer only got a demo and one other bike. My dealer doesn't even sell that many normal GS'es, they sell about 4 times as many Adventures. This is why they were so late to get any allocated, buildable bikes compared to some other people that are posting. Sucks to have to wait so much longer when I had my deposit down so early.

Same story here in Seattle. I'm told its one of the top GS dealers in the states and they've received two LC's - a plain jane demo and 1 blue bike that went to Black Dog Cycleworks. The next bikes are due sometime in the next month, of which one should be mine. Regarding the demo, It's currently sitting in my garage as they let me have it thru the weekend until tomorrow. I'm putting a ride report together now.

If yours is being shipped, your dealer can give you specifics as to ports, ship and dates, departure and arrival.

There's several people all over the States taking delivery of bikes different from what they ordered, I guess it's impatience. I had to settle with one with no spokes, it's got everything else though. I figure if I really need (want) the spokes I'll buy them later. For now I'm glad to be able to put the trip we had planned back online (knock on wood!!).

I have read on here that the top case is taller than the previous one and it looks that way in the pictures as well. I don't know if your helmet will fit though or not.

Thanks for your reply !

Perhaps someone that has one could kindly measure its internal height in the raised position ?

EJ, call Long Beach and ask how many they've got for demo and other that customers picked up. I believe they do high sales than your local dealer.

We may as well be in North Korea given how slow the GS shipments are arriving here

UK salt corrosion

I've just posted a couple of pictures of the effects of the corrosive UK rock salt they put on the roads here. I meant to post them here but mistakenly put them in the "show us your 1200GS LC" thread. Might be worth a look if you ride in the UK
