Fast delivery is another benefit, as my bike was built on December 5th, and arrived at my dealer on the 12th!

Damn forgot to look when mine was built.

I ordered it on Nov 13 and dealer said they had one on order for 10 Dec delivery. Picked it up, with the rack/bag installed exactly a month later on 13 Dec 13 :-)

Done 965km so far and loving it. First service on Thurs to get rid of the run in oil and away we go!

I cannot recall if this info was verified and posted before, but here is my question to Castrol on Facebook regarding the recommended oil for our GSWs, based on what I have been able to find and purchase vs the oil BMW says to use in the manual:

Ths is the link they offered above, not that their FB page is any great source of info: https://www.facebook.com/CastrolMoto

Nearly 1000km in 3 days on a new bike?? That’s impressive - glad to hear it’s going well!

Mine is 1 week shy of 4 months old, and has 8,000 miles on it. The rear tire is near the wear bars. No problems to speak of, still having a blast.

Wife picked up her R1200R on a Saturday, we were out Saturday and Sunday, had to work Monday, so no riding, Tuesday I dropped it off with 1000km on the clock.

Pretty common here - I got my GS and within three days I also were at about 600 miles.

Nice one, mine goes under the knife for a new exhaust flap actuator - at my last service the technician noted it was 'louder than it should be' when opening and closing the flap... although it functions correctly. Otherwise, good as gold.

Sounds like you got a good one, why fix what's not broken...

Thanks for checking into this. I was wondering the same thing. Can be had on Amazon for $7ish a quart as I recall. What is MSRP at the dealer?
