MR: Which do you think will be ready first? Iran's nuclear program or your Special K? I'm betting on the Iranians....

Meh, he knows I'm just yanking his chain.

I'm a friend of Larry's as well. The problem with Larry is that he's such a perfectionist that nothing is ever perfect. He's a conundrum wrapped in an enigma.

Understand.

Just make it as good as possible and ride it. Nothing else really matters.

You really don't know the half of it. I've known Larry for several years now and seen his creations in person. I can't say that I agree with his styling preferences (it's just personal preference after all) but when he puts his mind to something he makes sure that's it PERFECT down to the last molecule of chrome or paint. Most of us mortals wouldn't bother going to such extremes of perfection but the final products he puts out are really quite impressive.

And that's just the finish part. He also places a very high priority on having them run well too.

Does he color sand the paint? The reflections look pretty flawless...

He doesn't do the paint or chroming stuff himself. He farms it out. Whoever he uses does a great job though.

I agree with everything Duck said. Duck and Larry have mutual respect for each other which requires breaking balls every once in a while .They are good friends, Larry does incredible work and my money is on the NUKES

I must take some credit for the delays though. I find things to add like HB saddle cases and rack. Larry then decides the cases need to be matched painted and the rack chromed.... WHAT? Or larry comes up with a "I've always wanted to try this....do you mind?"

I'm surprised no one noted in the photo and asked.... something missing on the bike . Look again. Hint.....it caused one of the delays and required crazy detail to make correct (Larry's insanity Duck mentioned).

I'm hoping to get a photo with Duck, FrankenbricK (K75F), me and the new SpecialK.....The odd couple...Brick style

Would be nice to get Larry up here for that one....

I just assumed it wasn't yet complete. The instruments aren't installed yet.

To Duck's point, if you read the original post I detailed changes and little had to do with painting, chroming or engine work. Remember it was a cherry K75 with +/- 25K miles. But Larry went in this direction (photo) and it went from there. Larry's PERFECT is really quite extradinary. As for his other creations some of the paint schemes have been client driven especially "The Beast". But no one can take credit for the engineering work and attention to detail other than Larry. They are not 10 footers. With Larry's Ks you get up close and personal to see the detail.
Couple more weeks.

Where we started...

The following day....

I see most of the stuff there (missing the original instruments), but it looks like the front indicator lights were on the radiator shroud and now are not and I don't see any mounted anywhere else. (of course that is a side view). Nice move up to larger front rotors and I like that exhuast system as well. Great job scoring a sweet seat even though your first one wasn't a bad choice either.

Putting my neck firmly on the chopping block here...........

But I really fail to see what the fuss about Larry's bikes are.
Don't get me wrong they are an excellent example in detailing and component interchange etc and I am sure they are perfection up close, but............ it is no more than a lot of other people that I know are doing in their sheds.
