If they are, it will be interesting to see how it's done without the gearbox, swing-arm and final drive that's laying just above that odd looking exhaust component.

I'm just hoping that whoever commissioned/carried out that paint job was on some sort of drug induced trip and having come down, has regretted it enough to strip the parts off for returning to something less bizarre.

I'm not certain that laying the parts out in public while still painted like that wouldn't be a public order offence over here.

The colours remind me of these "penny chews" we used to get when we were kids (the fruit salad ones):

I just looked at the picture again, I think they are going to need a larger recycling box at the curb.

I think it would be more "between your legs" with a hot tank.

I've crossed the Mojave in August on a K bike. It's about like that.

Regarding the Holeshot screen: Their website lists this for a 7" headlight. I would like to have one for my R100R which has a 8" headlight.

Does your K Bike have the 8" light?

Thanks,

Mike

I've just re-read this thread from start to finish. I must have missed this before;

Very nice indeed. I think I'm hooked

I still have a lot of catch up maintenance to do. I would guess the best time to change out the final drive oil would be during the dreaded spline maintenance. So I don't have to worry about spilling it?
I'm curious as to why this bike has the un-braced K100 forks.

Those K flambaeus are most likely caused by the heated grip wiring. The low setting uses an orange resistive wire to reduce the voltage to the grips. It dissipates the excess power by generating heat and melting the insulation off of the orange wire, usually causing a short. If you're lucky it pops the #1 fuse. If you're not so lucky it can start a fire under your tank.

Because of this I recommend not running K bike OEM heated grips on low for extended periods of time.

If your #1 fuse pops then it's a good idea to pull the tank off and inspect the heated grip wiring.

I believe it was crashed and put back together. I think that's why it has the weird fairing.

I wish it had the correct braced forks. I'm considering them. If I can find a set cheap.
