Is this something that was perhaps more prevalent with the early bricks? My '93 K75 doesn't smoke at all after being parked on the side stand. No joke.

The piston rings up to 88 or so let a fair amount of oil seep by into the combustion chamber. 89+ bikes have different rings.
Leave your 93 on the side stand for a month or two and it will smoke. It's not a big issue though.

Sorry about the scan of an ancient photo (the System 2 helmet helps to date it), once upon-a-time.......
![]() I wanted to hate that 75RT so much that when I picked it up (instead of the planned K100RT) with 4 miles on the clock, I tried to blow the thing-up. I soon learned that the triple was far better in the real world, just about 5 to 10 mph slower at the top-end.

A quick wipe with 'Wonder Wheels' alloy wheel cleaner would soon get rid of that nasty tarnishing on the exhaust.

![]() This K was available for purchase at Bobs BMW in New England when I was looking . Low mileage well cared for and in near perfect condition.........yes, a little tarnish on that exhaust. But Larry's K75 got my commitment. Might still be available. ![]() A.T.T-W, Thanks for the tip on the tarnish remover. I'll be needing some with my chromed K. |
