The holy grail of the BW350...

Of course, after I took the pic, dropped it!!! Cracks add character, right? Damn, they're so fragile with age and sun exposure.

But, there must be a way to cast a small number of these for low cost even if they're a solid amber colour and not translucent.

You're right. That's why the stock ATC250R forks were used with the stock ATC250R triples on my BW instead of boring the stock BW triples out, but I do believe some folks bored the BW triples to accommodate the Tri-Z forks.

Spent yesterday harvesting what I needed for my machine....spare wheels, airbox, plastics, swing arm, tail light, etc. Here's the stuff I'm parting with.

Laugh ATC 250R front end!!

Brothers!!! How the Hell are ya???

Found a complete front end on eBay from a 1983 ATC 250r , thing is he wants $980 Australian to supply and deliver.. Bit pricy or what?? guess they are getting rarer but hey fair suck of the sausage. thats up there. hahaha Might see how bad the BW front end is first as i am barstardizing an 1997 XR 400 into a Big Wheel. On second thoughts STOPPING might be a priority... lol

Watch those atc triples some have rake built in.
I am building a smaller honda into a bw fatcat style of bike.
I have a set of those raked triples, which are no good unless the headstock is the same length as the donor or you get creative.
I ended up with atc350 triples which aren't raked. They take 35mm fork tube which i have a few off[cr80].Add a chinese quad hub...cheap$$ and a chinese quad wheel cheap$$ .Find the right length axle and add disc and spacers and little creativity and you have a pretty cheap front end.
ATC Triples landed in oz $60-100.Atc Front wheel around 200-300 landed etc
980 is crazy

Please keep us updated. I was thinking of the same project, but with a 96 XR400.

Front tire

Anyone ever tried a Carlisle AT489 tire up front on the bw200?
I took sixpeppers advice & went with the kenda K535 knarly on the back.

I believe Mr. Big-Wheel has that tire on a front rim or two...

AT489 on front...

I have one on my BW200. The 25x8-12 isn't as wide as many other tires called 25x8-12. However, the tread works pretty well on the bike.

Does the 489 25" fit the rear ok (anyone)? I was looking at the trail wolf, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141270662692
(or something heavier lugged than the Duro's) for rock and trail. Nice looking boots!

AT489 rear?

Have you considered the 24x11-10 AT489 using the DMO adapter?

Thanks, I have. I'd like too... just baulk at the extra expense. Nothings ever a bargain on this side of the planet, most often involves post$$ eg even the duro 25" cheapest I could find is around $130au/$120us. I do want Bill's swingarm mod but baulk at the wheel adapter mainly for the extra expense. And sourcing the right rim. Tried AMS swamp fox but it was square and too tight.
