Loaded the bike in the truck and took it to the local welding shop to weld the tank bracket on. Great service - Drive thru, and didnt have to unload the bike !

First start and ride...
Fisrt start since Jan 1st. Fired right up.
Next steps - install the fender / rack and lower the pegs a bit. Then its ready for a trail ride test. My wife and I named it "the Scorpion" dual sport'ster after her nickname.

Looks great, sounds even better! How does the torque feel on that now that it is lighter? Once the rear brake is sorted out I want to see some wheelie pics!

Repositioning of the foot pegs and controls - the rear sets are more suited for cafe style bikes, so going to move the pegs down and forward 1.5 x 2.
Here is the mock-up for the right side and brake lever .... The old position was close to the swingarm pivot.

Left side foot peg and shifter relocation - same 1.5 x 2 shift down and forward.
Tie rod will probably need to be shortened a bit...
