The chevrons on the front of the car look really good it sort of matches the lights on the bike. Great looking rig you got there!

I never noticed how they match up ( I guess I was sooooo focused on getting her on the road !!).I have a 6 LED offroad light that is going just in front of the sidecar step behind a rock gaurd that matches the headlight guard..Here's another pic of the ground clearence.

Throw 2-3 bags of Quickcrete or sand in the tub and take it for a ride on a rough route to stress the suspension. It might just loosen up.

The guy who built NOW says it will only have 1 1/2" of travel when totaly broke in.I talked to a trailer supply shop here ,and they said that it would never be compliant enough for what I want to use it for unless I run a very low tire pressure.I have another idea for the suspension that I will install tomorrow.IF it works I will let you guys know what it is,if it doesn't I will keep my mouth shut about it..hehehe
.Here is the frame without the tub.

Now that's the shot I wanted to see.
How about one from the rear, center - about 2 feet off the ground. Interesting build, looks stout. Too bad about the oversprung tub. You'll sort it out. Don in Nipomo |

Thats the best part of building your own,you make it like you want it.I REALLY wish we could all ( Vstrom hackers ) get together and compare them side to side.I had a VERY clear vision of what I wanted before I started and with the exception of the tub ( it kinda landed in my lap ) it turned out like I wanted.I plan to spend alot of time in the woods/mountains with this rig doing some research, (I have waited almost 30 years to do) and that was my goal when I started this project. As you can see I added extra mounting tabs on all 4 corners so I can mount a box to carry everything when I go solo and take off the tub.

See, this is the part that took me so long to get mine out of the shed. I had at least 3 different suspension setups on mine before it ever saw daylight! Have you considered lengthening the swing arm part of your existing set up? Obviously you'd have to remount the pivot point forward, just a thought. It'd be pretty easy to calculate the desired length, as you know how much it travels now with the length it is now. Double it's length with the same weight on it and it will move twice as far. I'm interested to see your solution!
Lookin' good so far!

I thought about making the swing arm longer BUT it sets INSIDE the wheel so it can only be made 2 inches longer before it hits the wheel.I would have had to make a dogleg in it to clear the wheel.I'm heading out to the shed in 5 minutes ( heavy rain and 35mph winds !!) and I will emerge victorious !!!!!!!!

So after 8.5 hours in the shed (and 2 running for parts and lunch.
)I think I won the battle. The new suspension is done and primered,I still need to remount my fender, wheel sets about 2 inches farther out. Also I need to wire up all the lights and mount the skid plate and step, then hook it up the bike and start adjusting the toe in and lean out and then RIDE !!!!!!...
