That ride was about a year ago right now. Spring is here again

I need another ride up that Klickitat River Canyon, gawd that's a beautiful river.
Howdy AJ!

Ya, that new job just about killed me...long story short, I am now happily employed at my fathers small private accounting firm in HR and absolutely loving it!

Wasn't sure I was gonna ride this year, but I finally came to my senses and got the CX up and running - took it out for the first ride yesterday.......

So......now that we're all caught up, lets get out for a ride sometime!!!

Talking Had to dig to find this thread!

Okay, mow grass in the orchard or ride new bike? BIKE!

Went here,

And here,

Then here,

And,

Then,

Then "Crashclay" joined the fun!

Found a nice high spot,

Some one had to walk home! Have no idea WTF this person was thinking trying to drive a van up Bald Butte but it was about as wedged as it could be, The front right and rear left wheels were just hanging in the air... Still trying to figure out how in the hell he got it stuck right in the middle of a turn?

Then it was off for more fun on some nice dust free (kind of) mountain roads.

Then a stop to take in the view of Mt Adams and the Columbia river.

Then it was off to Hood River for burgers at 6th Street Bistro & Loft! Oh and by the way, thanks for the great motorcycle parking "Applejam" hope you don't mind us making use of your space behind the shop?

Whats not to understand?
I'm pretty sure I've walked out of that same spot about 35 years ago after a night of drinking and talking Joe M. into something his Datsun pickup had no chance in Hell of doing.

The funny thing is that van should not even be there, It would be like showing up to compete at a trials event on your 990! Okay, I guess if you had enough to drink you could ride that 990 over anything... I think they made it to this spot and it was trying to get it turned around that got them into this mess!

Anytime I come upon an abandoned vehicle like that I get the license number and call the cops. 9 times out of 10 its stolen.

It's just Hood River, probably some hard core extreme dude training for a "Red Bull Extreme Van Rally"... It was probably the navigators fault anyway!

Here's another shot of the blockage. I think a couple good pushes on the up hill side, and you could get it to roll all the way back down to the road!

Oops, not a Quadravan! Looks like a scene from "breaking bad."

It looks like you and Crash Clay had a great day. Thanks for sharing.

Rode away from the Hood today

Headed out towards Condon with the goal of Cherry Ranch and the Painted Hills. But as I was topping off the tanks in Condon it occurred to me that I had never been to Lone Rock

Found the cemetery on the other side of town

Than as I rode back into town there it was the Lone Rock

Interesting way to shelter the farm tools

Traffic was the usual pain in the ass out there

270 miles all in all. Need to go back and explore south of town. Lone Rock Rd. headed up into the south hills and a really inviting sign the read "Road not maintained for public travel" or something like that. But I suspect it goes somewhere

Very nice! It would have been great to go along today but I did get a bunch of stuff done before it starts to rain again. Next time.

It goes through (or, did) to the Kinzua Haul Road, You used to be able to go through to Kinzua, and on out to 19, but part of that road is closed now, so no go. In the other direction the KHR went through to 207, but I haven't been to the intersection of KHR & Lonerock Rd. since the closure, so I don't know whether that direction is now blocked as well.

Sat and/or Sun ride out in Hood River

I will be solo out in the Gorge this weekend and plan on riding, perhaps both days. I'll call a meet up plan for Sat morning, but am also flexible on where and when:

WHEN: 10 am, Saturday
WHERE: Bottom of Binns Hill Dr (intersection of BH, Country Club Rd, Portland Dr.)
RIDE: Up into them thar hills, up to Kingsley, catch a bit of OHV also, ...

You'll need an OHV sticker to, well, ride in the OHV area. This won't necessarily be a hard-core single-track day, but I may hit some of that also. There are lots of mellow, wide trails around Kingsley that even bigger bikes can do.

Well, yeah,...Tony the Tiger rode much of our side of it on the way here last weekend,
...that's where he picked up a NW "Tag" drop, sitting the winter out from last Fall.

He said he met a Hardley that had ridden all the way from Dufur, skirting past snow, but on dry pavement.

The big question is.........when do we get to ride Bennett Pass? ....
