NICE !! wondered why we hadn't heard from you...

The fire is on the hill above/well North of your place.
I don't expect to see it endanger your place at all as of today.
But it is quite a spectacle from the Hood River side to see

I love Vancouver Island. We auto vacationed there several times, many years ago....

I am going to have to be realistic and put myself back on the fence... I might not make it after all...

I am sure you will have a blast without me if I am not able to come.

If nothing else you can send me more pics, tests and videos

The entrance to 48 off of 35 has been open for a few weeks now.

Barlow Road report

They are doing work on upper section of Barlow Road between 43 and 35. Above the bridge that is “failing”. They have the upper gate closed and a large track hoe across the road. It was actually more difficult to get around the track hoe than the gate. (Don’t get excited AJ, I said track hoe, not crack ho). They are doing absolutely nothing about the “failing bridge”, and are installing road drainage above the bridge. By the way: They have eliminated the drainage whoops on the section between the failing bridge and highway 35. It is like a freeway. I guess “the “dump truck wussies” couldn’t handle the drainage whoops. I couldn’t get over the images in my mind of John flying over those same whoops “ass over tea kettle” with his “urinal” sidecar. Coolest thing I ever saw.

Susi and I just got back from an 8-day trip. Read. Or don't.

BMW mechanique in Hood River?

Hey guys,

Derek here. I am getting ready to ride my F650 funduro cross country and wanted to get a little tune up before I go. Any recommendations for a good mechanic here in town? I know very little about bikes and would feel better if I had it looked over before I head out.

thanks,
derek

I'm not a BMW guy and can't recommend any shops, but I do know how to use the search function here. Here are recommendations in PDX
