The long way home is always the best, nice shot. :)

I'm just west of Brightwood.

Recently got a new bike.
A shot the day after I brought it home. Just had to go ride it and if I wanted gravel I had to get through snow to get it.
This was also the long way home from the insurance agent in Estacada so they could see it and such (he's a bike guy). I figured why not break it in a bit.

Hay, guess what!

Power lines are clear of snow! Might be old news but it was fun anyways.

A bunch of turkeys running around today!

Clear of snow already? Punkin's still on blocks waiting for fresh legs, so I haven't been up there. No snow now is good for the next few months, but bad for the trailrunners in June......

You'll fit in just fine around here,.....
Garage Queens are not allowed

I've been riding Shelly's mighty DR200 the last couple days, fun enough on dirt, but a bit of a bore on Dee Hwy.

Thanks. I like it. Aint no hot rod but it seems to have a nice even powerband so that's nice. I wanted a 250 for commuting use to flight school and such for the great mpg.
Was going to just buy an old Ninja off a buddy but then decided that a dual sport was more my thing with 95% of my solo fun riding being heading to the forest. Then the choice of which small DS to get. The Honda seemed the most well rounded of the bunch at a decent price.

And the fact that there are currently several of them I've found making RTW trips was a nice touch. Subframe needs beefing up to carry much more than overnight gear though. I've heard of a few sub frames breaking. But they had laptops and the kitchen sink back there for RTW so........
I always just pack like I'm backpacking but with an engine.
Just got a Dirt Bagz setup for it. I've already added handguards and a power port.

I gotta say though. After I bought it I was in a Yamaha shop and looked at the XT250 in person. Less suspension than the Honda and less power, But it also has a kick start. I like that option for forest usage. Insurance if a battery goes south in BFE. But there is always bump starting. ;)
Lovin' the Honda though so no regrets.

Went for a little spin up around Gilhouley this afternoon with a friend, could have been slightly better weather but it was comfortable and fun to ride for a bit. Didn't spend a whole lot of time taking pictures but we stopped up top to enjoy the view.

Awesome, what do you race? You come up for the Oregon Trail Rally? Gilhouley is real close to home for me, great place to go unwind. :)
