Just at FYI Breitenbush lake is on Warm Springs Indian Reservation land. I wouldn't recommend trying to camp there and they frown on it.

I thought Horseshoe lake was beautiful.

2 weekends ago I went to Olallie lake and spent the night at the Peninsula camp ground. Got there later in the afternoon and no envelopes to pay for the camp site, so I stayed and left early before the camp nazi showed up.

It was some what windy so had no Bugs to deal with. And yes they get really bad up in that area. Take the bug spray------

Man, I love Ollalie Lake, dreaming about getting up there again soon. Did you fish while you were there? Had a nice weekend up there last year right on the tip of that campground and caught fish from the picnic table.

WTF is with the no swimming in the lake thing though?

Fishing-----Yeah I got up at day light and first cast nailed one with a worm and bobber-- breakfast. That was good enough for me.

Not sure about the no swimming thing.

I did see a sign by the lake that said something about no motors and no swimming cause it's a protected watershed or something to that effect. I guess that means if you urinate in the lake they would have to drain it and refill it.

Great day to ride.

Rockyroad & i headed around Timothy Lake today from Blue Box Pass, trying to find an alternate route around to Santiam Pass & Detroit Lake. Clocked up 200 miles in total but got gated on 7010. Another day another route.

Looking over to Jefferson...& the smoke surrounding it.

Back out to High Rocks to smoke & fire crews. Talked to firefighters & they said there are a bunch of little lightening caused fires around that area. This pic is at the corner just before High Rocks where we rode through the smoke & fire at roads edge.

Plenty of great riding up there, just be aware that there are sporadic fires going on.

Hope they can get them out before they get too big.

Just heard today that as of this afternoon the fire danger for the OHV trails in Hood River have been raised and the trails are closed. Probably until fall as usual.

Knew I should have gotten a trail ride in there last week......

route suggestions?

Ten Eyck road to Barlow Trail to Lolo Pass and into Hood River do-able from Sandy?

some friends and I are looking to ride that (or similar) on the 8th, and Saturday ride around where it's not closed/gated- possible base camp Friday/Saturday at AJ's

Hey Jeff.... mind a few random campers that weekend?

not a rally or event or anything, couple yuppies I know and resemble.... anyone else interested in a quiet night by the fire followed by dirtbikery?

Quiet night by the fire...WTF!!! Who the fark are you associating with now?

That route is doable, but there is a 'tollgate' you have to encounter mid trip...for refreshments!

Call in, I'll check your horses out for the arduous hill climb ahead, replenish the riders & send you on your way without a worry!

Tell me more about this " tollgate" Squishy, sounds like an invite for a beverage I should take.

My place!

Ask your missus...she knows where it is.

No toll charged at this establishment...when you're part of the crew.
