FYI, anything South of the power lines the snow starts to pile up pretty fast but if you stay to the North it's not to bad....

Last weekend we got into snow pretty quickly in the hills around the Hood. The worst part is that it had warmed up and turned the snow into that really greasy stuff (read slippery). If is was fresh pow it would be nice, but that greasy snow is no bueno.

AJ, Did she sit on my last year at Hells Canyon? With the seat cut down I can touch with the balls of my feet and it didn't need to be lowered. When I sit on the newer ones the seat height is about the same as mine was before it was cut down. Shelly is a bit taller than me so I think she would be able to ride one with no problem.

Last Hells Canyon I was going to let a couple people ride mine but instead a part was needed off it to keep someone else riding. I'll probably have it down there with me again for the next one if she needs to try it out.

Just trying to be helpful.

Hay Jeff & Shelly,
If you two want to come by some time so Shelly can sit on the 650 and check it for fit give us a call. Just have to say that Shelly would be flat foot and bent knees on this thing, It's very low!

I've had to pass on riding with you guys this year because of surgery, domestic responsibilities, and the fact that the 1200GS is simply too big for the type of riding your doing. The way I figure it the GS is good for up to "Free Bridge and Upper Mill Creek". Anything tougher than that a smaller bike in my estimation would be preferred. The GS is a bitch to pick up and repairs can get expensive.

So to rectify this problem I decided to get a smaller bike. I'm looking at a DRZ 400 today in Washougal. It's a 2003, 1,000 miles, for $3,000. My plans are to get a bigger tank, skid protection, knobs and soft luggage.

So, when the trails demand knobbies I'll take the DRZ. The BMW will always wear Tourances. Make sense?
