Simply amazing. Glad you walked away from that, man. And SD isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's only gonna be in the high seventies, low eighties today. California sucks... |

Detroit definitely has huge areas that could easily be described as "ghetto". I made a wrong turn the last time I was there and was amazed (and a little frightened) to find blocks and blocks in a residential area with only a handful of occupied houses. It made me wonder if that is what urban America would look like after a zombie apocalypse. The few people I saw there looked rather zombie like, it was very sad.
I hope things turn around there. The Packard plant wasn't the only huge, abandoned, industrial complex I saw.

A good friend was traveling across the country a couple of years ago and
reported campgrounds throughout the midwest saturated with displaced families living in their campers. Here we are, now a nation of gypsies while houses and factories sit empty, and the bankers laugh while the oil speculators drive up the price of fuel. Makes me wonder why I bother to vote. "I despair".-Neil Baker in a moment of drunken clarity. Sorry for any hijack. Hope to see you, Parepin here in sunny(but cold) San Diego for a beer.

Our hero headed on out of San Diego on Sat morning after shacking up with my brother Evan who owns RaceTech Electric (FadingFastSD) and I for the last 8 or 9 days. I gotta tell ya, if you get the chance to meet Parepin, you can't find a better guest to have. I've never met someone so respectful, and just an overall damn good person. Hell, he even unloaded our dish washer and took out the trash! He's got the most positive outlook on everything and just an aweseome "eh, fuck it" attitude that I grew to admire. We had a hell of a week just hanging out, wrenchin on our bikes, and drinkin and smoking
. It was great, and I hope more of you guys end up having the chance to meet and hang out with Parepin as he continues on his quest. Alex - you know you are ALWAYS welcome back with us any time you need a place to stay or a garage to wrench in. Miss ya man, and ride safe! And change your title man, I called you a FILTHY NOMAD! daxxruckus screwed with this post 03-12-2012 at 03:28 PM Reason: to correct Parepin's filthiness |

Having Alex here at our place in San Diego was a blast! The Filthy Nomad definitely lives up to his name.
If anybody gets the chance, have the Nomad stay at your place. You're guaranteed a good time, and temporary roommate who will do the dishes and buy beer! haha While Alex was here, we filmed a great video at RaceTech Electric showing how to do a full installation of high power Stator & Voltage Regulator on his KLR650. So...here is Alex' acting debut: Finally, good luck on your travels Alex, and if you need anything, you know where we're at! Evan

Hey Evan.... it's still on the bench due to a bunch of other stuff needing attention first.
![]() It's due to go in before the Trans/Lab though! R/R upgrade has been nice. Peace |

Good to hear Jim, glad it's working well! Can't wait to hear about the stator, I know you'll love the higher output. Alex loved his. No more headlight/turn signals dim or flickering at idle.
