Not necessarily so. It depends on which EU country the Type Approval certification was done. Germany are generally acknowledged to be the strictest in terms of adherence / interpretation of the regualtions and Spain somewhat more lenient.

What this means in practice is that German testing authorities want every exhaust testing on every bike, whereas Spain will test an exhaust / silencer on one bike and allow the certification for that silencer to be used on various other bikes. I still prefer the look of the TB over the Leo and I can get the titanium one for $430, thats not too bad. I dont really care if its not louder than stock, but I dont want to go screaming down the road annoying the neighbors either. I bet it sounds better regardless, than stock that is.

for my ex Kawasaki ER6 and only one was louder then stock, most were
spot on, exactly the same, and leovince, arrow and I believe akrapovic were
0.5 to 1dB quieter.

Anywhu, I'd be VERY careful with buying an exhaust for a parallel twin, and the
BMWs sound make them even more 'specific', so you might end up with a
very bad investment (subjectively).

My information came from the owner of an exhaust company in Italy, who was explaining to me why he had his exhausts tested for Type Approval in Spain and not Italy or Germany, so no reason to doubt his accuarcy.

Yeah, they put it under adventure bikes. I guess they figure with the bags it becomes an adventure bike.

I had a Remus on an F650GS and it sounded great. We had the Akra's on a couple at work and they sounded really good too.

how effective are the aftermarket windscreens for this bike? i might be getting one next year, and it's going to be my daily driver, 365. it doesn't get TOO cold down here, but i would still like to remain relatively comfortable when riding about when it's cold as balls.

Love my ZTechnik, works great. Wasnt cheap though.

I bought the smoked short one, looks pretty good on the bike too.

Z-technik is the only after market screen available for this bike that I know of. I'm 5'8" and went with the regular (short) screen. It works well for keeping wind off the chest, I still get some wind around the head. If I were a quarter inch taller I would go with the taller screen. All in all, I'm happy with it. It does the job.

how much of a difference would you say it makes? i know that's a very vague question, but i don't really have any experience with naked bikes, so i don't know how big of a difference they make.

What he said. There are other companies that make them but nothing that compares IMO. I think it makes a huge difference, another satisfied customer.
