Still have mine... 120k no rebuild, no second gear change. Need to watch the clutch slave cylinder but they still sell the rebuild kit for it ($10!). Bike is getting long in the tooth need to TLC it this winter. I have a 03 FJR. In comparison, the FJR is technical, very precise, gobs of power. The FJ is just..., FUN!
Plus, wherever you go someone has a FJ story to tell or wished they kept there's.

Can't say enough good things about the FJ1200. Sub 11 second quarter mile. 50 miles per gallon (when not doing sub 11 second quarter miles), all day comfort.

Mine's an '86. Fantastic bike with a fanatical following. With a few suspension mods, it still embarrases much newer equipment; it's fairly comfy; it's smooth and fast. You'll find about 30 nice examples in Boone, NC on the third weekend in May.

Damn good garage you have there sir!
Love the FJ/FJR range. Never owned one, ridden a few and if i had room for a 2nd bike to go with the B1250, then i reckon a well sorted FJ12 would be top of the list.

93 fj 1200 abs here

I bought my 93 new in 95 off the showroom floor with 5 miles on it. I still have it and plan on keeping it. I am tall and get cramped riding it all day. I have replaced with with an 1150 gsa long hauls. There is a clunk going into second but I have never popped out of gear. It is smooth and powerfull. ABS worked find for about 5 years but is not working now. Rebuilt the clutch and all is well. Wish I had taken better care of it in its earlier life but that is the way it goes. Now I would like to do some of the up grades mentioned eariler in the thread. Maybe I could get down to NC for one of the rallies. We will see what the spring brings.

Comfortable sport touring bike, loves highways and sweepers, 85 FJ1100 (16 in front tire) fatiquing on fast farm roads. Not all mods happy ones, very good stock motor/pipes.
