Well, crap....
I have been stopping there for burgers and tire-kicking since the mid-80's. My son got his permit last year and naturally a burger at T.W.O. was part of his "first ride" rite of passage. We had both been waiting 16+ years to make this trip. |

XSive riders rally
For the past 10 years the 3rd weekend in Sept has been a rally for members of the XS11.com forum. A group thats dedicated to the Yamaha XS and XJ1100s' 1978-1982. Like everyone else we loved TWO and the proprietors. Amazing to see soo many people from all over the world have been there. heres some of my pics from last Sept...

Back in 1991, Kawasaki held one of their "Good Times Rallys" at TWO. They advertised in the national Motorcycle magazines and brought a truck full of demo bikes for the event. I have heard estimates of 6000-8000 attendees. The area around the lodge was not big enough to hold the expected crowds so most of the stuff was at the airport. I took some pics with my $15 camera and recently scanned them. I won't be winning any photography awards with these.
Here I am in front of TWO ![]() Although the scene above may seem normal to most TWO regulars, back in 1991 was mostly a campground, not a restaurant. Crowds this big were not the norm. Most of the people where at the airport. I took the next pics early in the day before most of the crowd showed up. ![]() As you can see, cars were allowed for this event. ![]() I did a couple of Demo rides. The route was from TWO to Stonepile Gap and back on 60. One of my demo rides was on a ZX-11, the fastest bike available at that time.

Here is a shot from around 1990 when the big tree was still out front.

On 3-13-11, I went for a last ride to TWO. It won't be my last ride to Suches but it will the last time to TWO. Arriving around noon, at first glance, thing looked fairly normal with a number of bikes and riders in the parking lot.
![]() Quite a turnout since TWO was not open for business. ![]() These riders were here to pay their last respects to a great place where they had so many great memories and to spend time with fellow riders they may not have seen since last fall. I walked around taking some pictures. From some views it looked almost normal, in others you could tell they were going out of business. I did not take pics of the stuff that looked bad since I didn't want to remember TWO that way. Here's some pics: One of the main attractions around here: ![]() I've washed a few bikes here. ![]() I wasn't the only one wandering around. ![]() This "project bike" is most likely available to anyone who wants it ![]()

Some more pics from 3-13-11
![]() This sign was in the big shed. It brought back memories of some pretty wild demo rides. ![]() Some TWO regulars. ![]() A view of the waterfalls across the street. ![]() . ![]() . ![]() A last pic by TWO. A big smile would not be appropriate. ![]() Some one had written some notes on the chalk board on the front porch. ![]() I'll finish this post by adding to what was on the sign. Britt and GT, if you see this, Thanks for all the good food, good times, and great memories. Best of luck in the future. |

GapRunr, I and some friends rode down on 03/06 to say our goodbyes. We ran into NoMystery and her beau, which was a great coincidence during an awful day.
The main TWO sign is being kept safe by friends, in case they ever re-open: ![]() I betcha I'm the only one who can post a photo like this of the lodge interior:
