Congrats on the bike. I've been following your threads over at OTN, sounds like you're pretty darn excited.

UCI =
Union
Cycliste
Internationale

It is the European governing body for trials events.

In UCI rules, hitting the bash is a dab, so bikes tend to have a very small bashring to give more clearance since you can not depend on it anyway.

This is also the reason for the crazy high bottom brackets on modern bikes.

At least that is my understanding......

I don't know a damn thing! Why do you think I'm hanging out talking about bicycles on a moto forum?

If hitting the bash is considered a dab then I'm never going to do well at an event.

If I haven't hurt myself yet I'm sure you'll be fine.

I don't ever expect to be any good on the bicycle but it's a damn fun workout and it's really helping me on the moto trials bike.

I'm planning a trail ride next week on my 200 and I'm anxious to see if I've gotten better there as well. It feels weird to be coming out of winter with new tricks in my bag and already tired from riding so much.

You've been trail riding a lot more than I have though.
