Elite 150 belt question

I just received a belt I bought off of ebay for my recently resurected 86 150D, the size is 818 19 30 and was listed as fitting Elite 125 and 150. I didn't pay attention to the size when I ordered it- just went by 'fits CH150/125' After checking, I see that the stock spec belt size is 799 18 28. Anyway, the old belt was screeching on takeoff so I put this new belt on. It seems to work fine, maybe a couple mph lower top speed and slightly slower takeoff. So...does a little bit of variation in belt size make a difference? If you go here: http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/799- ... ch150.html you'll see that this belt has been discontinued and is NLA so maybe the 818 19 30 is the only choice now? Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it much. I didn't pay any attention to the belt I bough for my Elite either, but it was one of those ebay jobs so I don't know.

I also noticed a somewhat slower takeoff as well at first. Didn't check top speed for a while though.

But I think this is normal with a new belt, you need to kind of let it break and settle maybe. Now my Elite tops 70 MPH and accelerates great. But I noticed the RPMs were lower under hard acceleration at first, but they've come up.

Thanks. I guess it is close enough and maybe it will wear in to fit a little better.
