Woohoo!!!

I just had a great weekend helping the NGARNZ ride over Labour weekend.

The ran perfectly and didn't miss a beat. No missing or shorts, (admittedly it wasn't wet and I didn't do any nasty river crossings.)

I had great fun blasting along the gravel along Tauwharepare Rd. And I got a see a few roads and some farm access I haven't been through before.

Here's a snap of M1K3Y on the Motu road.

Cross country from Otoko to Ngatapa.

Day 2: Regroup on Hokoroa Road

Hopefully your issues are behind you, & you get a clean run now.

Bike Mods

I have been through all this thread and is really interesting. I had a crash on my adv about a month ago and I am waiting to get the money to buy the damaged parts (specially that gas tank... ) . Once I get the bike back I'd like to improve some stuff. I saw that some of the mods you made where to disconnect the EPC and some other controls, Hoe did things went with this changes? do you recommend them?
Thanks in advance !

Hi there

Sorry I haven't been on Advrider for ages. Hope the repairs are going well. I can't really comment too much about the EPC changes as I hadn't really ridden the bike much before the changes and there where plenty of other things going wrong at the time. I can say the bike runs really well now. Getting the carb problems sorted out (caused by blocked intake) made the biggest single change to the bike.

Perosonally I'd replace the EPC gear anyway, just because it's a bunch of un-necessary crap. It adds weight and complexity. In my opinion the best place for it, is in a rubbish bin.

Cheers

P

The dreaded WOF...

Well it's that time of year again.. actually it was that time of year... some time ago. (I've just been avoiding it). I know I won't pass a WOF inspection with a broken indicator.

The cheapies I bought when repairing the bike have broken again, and after burning myself with a soldering iron trying to fix them again decided I might as well buy a shiny new pair of ktm OEM blinkicators.

Part numbers: 5841402500030 & 5841402600030. $18 USD each.. We'll see what they're worth to buy in $NZ.

Won't help you now, but keep an eye on Trademe. I got 4 for $50. There is a lot of people who get them with a new KTM dirt bike & then ditch the road gear. I'm impressed at how crash proof they have been on Gus.
