My set-up, i really appreciate the extra space and low profile of the Pelican 1300 case, i use it to keep my tools, some duc tape and elastic rope to tie stuff on the bike if needed.
It also comes in handy to store some groceries if the need occurs!

No pics but on my G650GS I made the rear top plate from 1/8" alu sheet (jig saw/band saw) as previously shown by others,mtd via rd alu bar stock spacers(see Caribou pics) drilled & mtd to oem holes on bike. This model requires a plate cutout for removal of seat latch access panel via ign key.
I then mtd pelican case using SS 6mm carriage bolts ( I have a lifetime supply of these via ebay bag purchase!) up through plate with rubber vibration bumpers(ebay for small quantities)under case, with inside of case having fender washers & plastic knobs from Grainger for retention/removal.
My setup works well but could be improved with some properly sized Dzus or other speed fasteners-if your too lazy to turn the knobs. Make certain the knobs don't take up your precious storage space nor provided an abrasion point for case contents. I made my own key lock set ups for all 3 cases using Zoro tools(ebay) key lock sets. Takes time which I've got & saves money which I don't have much of... On my top case I drilled two small strategic holes in a plastic web support on the cases and using two pelican oem holes my bungee net hooks can attach in 4 spots with no need for buying any hardware for additional "pile on" carrying capacity. Finishing touch was some Solas tape from Ebay-brighter than some of the other tapes.
ADV stickers are the crowning touch!

Twisted Throttle Pelican top case and mount

Anyone have experience with the Twisted Throttle Pelican top case IM2600 and the mounting system. I just checked it on the website. Looks like a very slick set up and of course, it is priced accordingly. My question is how good (durable) and how safe (security wise) is the set up? It looks like it mounts on a fairly narrow rack. If its something that is easily broken or compromised by a thief, then I will make my own quick-detach set up but if it's a solid solution, I may have to go for it. Hoping someone here who actually has it and has used it can comment.

I was rocking this when I had the Strom. There were bolt holes in the rear rack so I just literally ran a through bolt and fastened it with washers and locknuts.

If you're looking for a way to mount Peli cases as lift-on, lift-off panniers or as a top box, consider this:

My solution (1st attempt) may not be the prettiest, but it's held up to several thousand miles of European touring and the occasional bike drop without letting me down once or ever letting go of the cases and I regularly haul 13+ kg per case.

It can also be adapted to work with different flat carrier frames providing you stick with the basic rail layout as this provides the broadest spread of load support as well as ensuring the cases can't jump or slide off.

I'd suggest using a smaller 5mm thick aluminium intermediate plate bolted to each existing carrier hoop to achieve this. Maybe 12" x 8" or thereabouts and then scale down the rail dimensions so they fit comfortably on a plate this size.

Anyway, check out the following (but turn down the volume as I added a soundtrack I now regret). You'll want the second half of the vid as the first half focuses on my design of the rear rack:

BTW The cases I used are industrial black, but at only 40 a case, I don't really care.
