Guzzi Ambassador Final Drive Leak
Where is the leak coming from? Is an easy fix of just replace the oil seal or time for a complete rebuild?
Thank you for the reply, TT ![]()

Well it's not an easy fix. Get a manual and assess for yourself

Easy enough, get a new seal and gasket and do it....

Try replacing just the big seal first. Clean everything well before doing anything.
No gaskets needed, but be careful prying that sucker out. Once it's out, check the seal lip and the surface it rides on for grooves. If there's a groove, you can drive the new seal in slightly deeper or less deep to put the lip on a non-grooved surface. If you need to replace the big flange gasket, get two. I think there are shims in there between the case and the flange to set the ring and pinion lash. See #24 and #25 here: http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.u...p?p=finaldrive

ditto... look inside and see if it is coming from inside the spline. if so it is the inner seal. if not it is the outer seal, tit simple to replace. pry old out, hammer new in...
