Got my 2 into 1 installed and am testing...

Finally got my bike out of the shop this last weekend. Got the two into one installed along with a H2W jet kit and holy craps the thing is smooth. I still need more time to scrutinize the details but first impressions are no real detriments to the bike up to 90 mph. I haven't gotten somewhere to pull off 100mph plus yet to see if there is any restriction on the peak. But with the Remus Revo Alu it totally handles it great. CJ said he dyno'd his and it was within a few hps of stock on a 50k mile motor. Only thing that stood out was you can hear a slight post ignition against the bend of the two into one when the bike is warming up on deceleration. But once the bike is warm it disappears. I'm ready for my aux. tank now. Group buy anyone? Oh yea, I have a right hand side Remus Revo Alu for sale in the flee... anyone?

If a guy were to be buying a new bike (0 miles) and installing 2-1 and can. Would/should you get it remapped and dynoed when new or break it in first??

IMHO, no need to wait. Go forth and conquer!

I would get it broke in and have the first service preformed, why take a chance of damaging the motor with dyno pulls? Shops will have you sign a waiver in case your lets go durining the tuning session, that allways makes me nervous but I have never had an issue in over 15 dyno tuning sessions with all of my bikes.

Not much useful info from a dyno run before the rings are seated anyways.

Thanks for clarifying! I WOULD do the 2 into 1 but I wouldn't do any dyno runs. I would like to do a bike run-in on the dyno one day, but that is another complicated topic for another post and another day...

FWIW, I really don't care about HP, I do care about A/F mixture after a change. However, I believe the 2 into 1 has been shown to be low impact to fueling, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Hola folk,

I got myself a 990 with a 2-1 and SS pipe that I cannot identify- looks unlike any I've seen about here yet.

The pipe's got a hefty bore and no baffle came with it, and it's deafening me.

Also though, and why I am posting, is that it pops a lot (and sucks fuel more than previous 950A (x2) 950SMR or 990SM), so I wonder if it's got the wrong map and running rich. Any ideas fellers?

Certainly feels heartier than any of the previous bikes though, and pulls from lower also- when I went from std to Wings on 1st 950A, I saw an improvement; this is a whole different scale of improvement. But then I've not tried a 990A with std cans, just the SM.

So noone could tell me if a 2-1 bike may be over fuelling if popping/guzzling? And perhaps if it's on the Akra map, and if a switch to standard would help?

Pleeease.

The best way to know is to visit a shop with a brake dyno and gas analyzer.

Thanks Mousitas, but probably pricy and not as easy to find as a KTM dealer who can just plug in and switch over if that's the issue...

Popping and gurgling on decel is normally a lean condition. Lots of loud popping would have me looking for a dyno with a gas analyzer to check fueling across the rev range.

Occasional loud pop on decel, kind of like a backfire, but not quite as harsh, but then exhaust is so loud it's hard to tell.

Thanks guys.

If you have 2-1 I would run a stock map. The popping and burbling could be a rich condition. Especially with the bad fuel mileage. Try a remap and see but you really should get an analyzed dyno run performed. That will give you a definitive answer.
