We passed this mosque in the town of Kodungallur in South India. Its the historic Cheraman Mosque, which is the first mosque built in India in the year 629 AD. Still in service.

This mosque spire looks like it was made from old oil drums. Very resourceful use of materials by local people who no doubt could not afford a more expensive spire.
