VXA Crash Bar

Here is the new crash bar. It's of a CB500, couldn't have got one at random with so little modification as this one. Cut off the four mounting tabs that were mounted inside the bar and welded the two bottom ones back on on the outside and bolted them to the skid plate.

I was sure that I would have to modify the upper mountings arms, but when I got the bottom bolted, the arms were exactly where I wanted them, drilled the holes and bolted them on.

Got another pair of dirt bike pegs to mounted so I could have some forward pegs. I made these spring loaded to to stay closed when not in use.

That thing is really coming along and looking great. I guess I will have to get pictures of the Girlie up though she is bone stock.

He's way ahead of me too. I haven't even decided what bike I'm going to ride yet. Going to pick up the DL1000 today. One advantage we have is there are a ton of aftermarket accessories for our bikes, so we don't have to make them like Dad did. The disadvantage is the cost. He probably has less in that whole bike than I'll have in crash bars.
Good job Dad, what's next?

VXA, What Next

Well, I was going to officially say the bike is done as of today, but I have decided on two more things. I'm going to fit a fender on the rear, I found one just like the one I used on the front. I think it will look real cool and be functional as wall. I am also going to turn that slab they call a seat, it into something real cushy. Other than that, the bike is ready to go. I have a few more pictures I'll be putting up this week, so keep watching.

Well as soon as the replacement parts come in I am taking the Uly to Surdyke Yamaha on consignment. Maybe a Super 10 is in my future. We'll see how it goes. Pass the word around it will be there for about 7 grand minu the bags. I am going to use those on whatever I replace it with.

Turn Signal Indicator

Most if not all riders have at one time or another realized that they have gone for some distance with the turn signal still flashing. I can't see my indicators, but this does the job, you can't possibly not see this. I got two of these, one for my 1400 and the are great. I'll put them on a couple of my other bikes also.

Don't call that phone number, you could be in for a hell of a phone bill. That looks like a European phone number.

Suzuki's

The four bikes with windshields are mine, the other two belong to one of my sons. And you see the VXA, second from the right.
