Looking good! Hope your making your trip!! Ktm runs there front brake lines to the inside of the forks... I think maybe less chance of snagging something.

I have a TPS & sync when I finally get the bike running to the point I am ready to test ride. Right now that looks like it could happen tomorrow. I have some business an hour away on wed, so I might take the bike on a test ride. Crazy that I am still planning on this trip in two days.
Bought a new battery yesterday and a buncha bolts from fastenal. finished up the frame welding. Ended up going to the MIG to finish, too many welds, not enough time. Will need some finish grinding, I realize how bad of a MIG welder I really am... Redid the seat mounts and lowered the pan by 1.5". Ready to start work on the foam and then possible recover tonight. Will need to make the second pannier tomorrow and make some quick mounts. After that, I think it's pretty much ready

I'm Here man where are you?
![]() It runs awesome. Gearing is not an issue. Rode 400 miles today down to nc. Bike was great didn't miss a beat. The suspension is just dialed very planted and with a lot of travel. Can hang with most bikes in the twisties. Needs a lot of finish work but as a package it exceeded my expectations of what I set out to accomplish Posting this from my tent right before some well deserved sleep. Lots of compliments and wtf from the riders down here

I haven't seen those crash bars on any of the FZ1 sites I usually lurk. Where'd you get them?

Ran The bike hard this weekend. Did 1209 miles and no issues.
Thoughts Suspension is brilliant. Handled everything from rough gravel to fast sweeper s and right twisties. Never got upset or unsettled Motor is incredible. super smooth with tons of power on tap. Revs to the moon Seat and ergos are great but I need to redo the seat as I rushed it. Very sporty with sumo seating position and dirt bars. Front brakes are good, rear ktm brake sucks but I knew that. Lots of small things I will change or tweak but the overall package is impressive. I let a few guys ride it at the rendezvous an nd I think they all liked it based on the looks on their faces. Hopefully they will pipe up. it's def a road biased bike but will go where you want. I though t it was pretty easy to build, could easily skip a lot of the steps I did and have a really fun bike for short money. I do think the ktm front and rear needs to be used as a pair and with that said, extensive subframe mods are needed. Pic from west virginia ![]() ![]() I will redo the bags and mounts def not what I wanted but worked for the trip. |
