I was reading through the older posts and had a little info that may be useful. The difference between the tt and xt carbs are the choke[cable vs hand operated], slide needles, the tt has adjustable with clips and the xt does not have adjustable slide needles. The stock jets in the tt are 135 main primary and 130 or 135 secondary. The xt has 130 main in the primary and 125 main in the secondary. the pilots are also different. Lastly the xt carb has a diaphram operated enrichner circuit. For stonger brakes on the front the first gen xt's had a bigger rotor than the tt.

G'day Karlsons,

Nice bike and mods you've got going on there. Is there any chance you could tell me the length of the shield / guard on the header pipe?

Or if anyone else has an '96~'97 TT600 and could advise the length that would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Dan.

Hey Guys,

Here is a couple of pics of the Electric Start version I used to have. I sold it back in about 2001:

Sorry the pics aren't that sharp. I've just scanned up the original film photos.

Cheers,

Dan.

Hi Ed! Sorry to hear of your wifes work situation--and the selling of one of your TTs.
I've only been dirt bike riding a couple times this winter on the XR500.
My plated XR600 is just about done so hopefully I'll get some quality dual-sport time in this spring and summer. The only riding I've been getting much of has been all street on the FZ1 and the ol' CB750F.
The TT600 is in storage but as soon as I can afford it I'll be tearing back into the engine for crank bearings.

Shinko 244

Hey Fellas, It's time to start shopping for tires for my '84 TT600. Will the Shinko 244 5.10X18 fit on my bike? Also looking for an upgrade for the taillight bulb. For street use, it's almost invisible. Anything I can do to get more 6V light on my back side? I hope you all had a good winter, Kelly.

Hi, Kelly! Spring is around the corner! I think that tire will fit. I had a 500x18 Metzler on my TT600 that was sold.
Try to up grade your lights to 12 volt. I think theres a 6 volt led bulb too.
Maybe a elecrric wizard out here who can help?
My next TT600 will be a big bore 640cc and have a front end off a YZ 250. Will have be blue plastic, Black frame. Wr headlight. Black rims. D2 footpegs. Works rear shock. I already have lot of parts here.
Good day!! BIG ED XT&TT600 FAn!!

To brighten up your tail light get a small piece of mirror that is thin like from a makeup compact. Cut it if you can or break it and glue a piece behind the bulb. do not worry no one can see it. This extra reflection will make it much brighter. Most of these tail lights have nothing or a piece of foil.
