Do you ever think about that donkey and how he's doing these days?

Hey Bigdog04!
Thanks for reading the entirety of the Ride Report amigo! I even have the honor of your first post here on ADV. Excellent. Thank you for your kind wishes, and positive thoughts, I really appreciate them. Optimism is a virtue I will not easily lose, I can guarantee you that. Thanks again!

Hey Dave, I'm not too certain about what you are alluding to, but if you are referring to Juan, the older man that I hit on my motorcycle in Ecuador, I do think about him. My family (father) has gone so far as to reach out to him as well financially. If in turn you are referring to Ozymandius, I too think about him occasionally.

Assignment

Big Al

Just want to let you know that I loved the report so much that I turned ADV ride reports into an assignment for my senior English class. They picked rides, read them, and reported back to the class. It has been a hit even with non-riders. Thanks for the great pics and writing.

Great Ride report! Just finished up both yours and Toms. I was kind of reading them side by side and had a blast. Thanks for all the work putting it together.

U-Clem in his finest hour, Terlingua, Texas

A quick video of "U-Clem" rocking out at the Starlight Theater Bar and Restaurant in Terlingua, TX just outside Big Bend National Park.

GatorTiger: I never did go see Ara and Spirit out at their "oasis". Maybe next time.

DCRider: I think very highly of the Moto-Mule, and when I look at that trailer, It seems to me that it has the same concept nearly. However, A single set of boxes on one side of that trailer would out price the moto mule. That WHEEL would run you higher than an entire Moto-Mule Trailer.

Also, a pair of those boxes with mounts weighs 29lbs, Putting those boxes at 58lbs vs. the 10lbs an Action Packer tub weighs or the 20lbs a pelican case weighs. Otherwise, an extra 48lbs, for only 30 more liters of space.

That whole setup, with boxes, mounts, rear wheel (13lbs), and frame (12lbs ?) weighs likely very close to 85lbs vs. 32lbs for a motomule.

That being said, if I had a hitch on my K75, and my K75 was 105hp like an R1200GS, I WOULD LOVE to pull that trailer, because it is awesome.

agree Al, my first thoughts were cool look, appears to be good design/functional, but heavy and $$$

plus anything with an $18.99 Actionpacker on it fits us KLR/DRZ guys

my set up
