![]() ![]() Leo!![]() ![]() Thanks for the update, Ned! I talked with Carlos M about this Raid a few years ago. For me, as a non-competitive pogue, I think it's tops on the list. AIO's pics are doing nothing to dissuade that.

Cheers! Dunes like they have over there, without paddle tires, are not for the meek...

Phone update:
stages are not timed, but they check your non resettable odo before and after each special, so that efficient navigation is rewarded. There are about 20 gps points per day, so you can use them to help in dunes, etc, but they are quite tricky with how they place them so that using them over the roadbook will be a disadvantage. I'm riding very easy, no commitment, stopping for pics, eating meals mid stage, and still ending very early so I think I'm doing it wrong. Oh well, very fun, and leading is nice because no tracks to cheat nav from and no dust. This is a perfect event for my intro to rally, can sort out details and learn about things with no pressure and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended! I think it would be quite easy and affordable for anyone in the us to participate in. More dunes tomorrow I'm told, looking forward to it! Now to figure out where I'm sleeping. Ps, rode an ex factory 690 this am, I think I'm in love. Offered for me to do today's stage on it, but I couldn't say yes, that bike was trouble of the best kind!

I'm more worried over here than I am over there. It's an awesome place and remember, only the bad things make the news!

Greetings from Mahmid, with the outstanding company of Ned, Per, and many others from Portugal, France, Spain... and Morocco, also one rider and friend here
Great time, great stages! Today a short but demanding sand stage. Tomorrow, the dunes, from Mahmid to Zagora. Thanks all
