Great old timers festivities!
![]() The Yankees are a class act! Nice to see Torre, Pinella, Williams back at the stadium. ![]() Tino still looked in prime form. |

(50-31) Colon is back on track as he pitched himself out of a couple of jams. Jeter went 1 for 2 with 5 assists in Trenton.

![]() ![]() That lasting outing he had, was one his best with the Yanks!![]() At the pace he is going, you can expect him to opt out. The Yanks will have to reach a little deeper.

(50-32) Put the brooms away...............no sweep for the Yankees, but a nice finish for the Mets. Noesi gave up a walk off single to Jason Bay. The Indians are next @ 6:35 tonight.

(51-33) Great performance from CC. Poor base running from Posada,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I don't get it. Let's win the rubber match and get back to New York where Jeter can get his 3,000th hit.

Absolutely psychotic that CC is not on the All-Star team. 12-4 and possibly 13-4 before the All-star game. What are they thinking.

(51-34) Great pitching by Masterson for the Tribe. No run support for the return of Phil Hughes. The Rays are in town for a series. I don't get the snub on CC, but then again, I don't see Tex on the roster either.

(51-35) Not a good outing for Colon. Run support is questionable. We need a break.

why's it psychotic? he's having a nice year, but it's not like it's a total snub or anything- wins, by themselves, mean little as to how good the pitcher is (look at felix hernandez's 13-12 record last year for example. he was still a stud.)- it IS a team sport after all; take a look at his other numbers and see if you still think it's psychotic. but beyond the numbers, you do realize it's just a popularity contest, right?

Quote:
CC is having more then just a "nice year". He is tops in wins, 8th in ERA (2.72 lower than those of Felix Hernandez, David Price, and C.J. Wilson) and 4th in strikeouts in the AL. If he continues and his current pace he will be the AL Cy Young winner. A large portion of the AS game is from the popular vote of the fans. But remember there is Player voting (16 players) Eight pitchers (five starters and three relievers) and Manager selection. (9 NL players/8 AL players)CC was snubbed, no other way of looking at it. |
