Congrats on the bike! I see you got the less restricted exhaust, guess the restrictions on restriction are little more reasonable across the sea. You might consider that the 511 is actually 477.5 cc's so you might be looking for the wrong number. I'm not sure as i've never looked for this stamped on the cylinder of my 511.
I love the bike so far. it f'n tears up straight lined through the nasty rutted stuff, wish 1rst gear was a little tighter and 6th a little taller but overall a very well engineered and innovative bike.

G'day mate yeah i knew it wasn't a true 511 but 477/511 isn't showing up on the bike anywhere (unlike my ol WR400)
Is it the same with both 449 & 511 regarding having the stickers on the side? or just the 511?

p.s. yeah i'm taken her out on sunday for the first ride... really looking forward to it.... it's gunna be sweet just to start a bike with a button. lol

cheers.

not sure of your question? They both have decals / stickers indicating 511 or 449. Have a great ride this weekend... check all your bolts first and maybe after a few hours of riding too!

Yeah you just answered my question, i couldn't remember seeing the 449 was a sticker like my 511. I will continue to chase up actual confirmation but anyway thanks for your help.

Yeah the dealer wants it back within the first 200kms to go go over everything including the bolts so this weekend i'd like to try and get those kms clocked-up. I'm very pleased we get the arko pipe here straight off the bat (1-less thing to buy) and the dealer didn't even offer the orig. pipe as i didn't want it taking up room in my shed anyway. They also removed the o2 sensor which makes me wonder if they did the "jumper wire" mod to make it run on MAPII!?!?
Given here in OZ-VIC we're not suposed to be riding "rec reg" plates in town i took a chanced it and took it for a quick squirt around my neibourhood... I'm amazed at how responsive the EFI is (might be too responsive) Very happy witht he power!!! time to go rid'n

cheers

pop the seat off and look between the battery and the air filter ( if i remember right) at the top of the frame. You should see it tucked in there with the jumper wire plugged in. If not go back and get it.
If you are ever wanting more power try the JD tuner.

TE449 - on the list?

Hi Guys,

I am drooling over the TE449 - saw my first one a couple of weeks ago

I have read this thread and note the first major service work at 70 Hrs. I love my KTM but hate the full service every 15 hrs (OK, 20 hrs in my case...) which includes valve adjustment.

Question ; how much service effort does the TE449 take? I really just wanta ride the fooker

Te449

Don't know about the maintenance interval but gotta say I love my TE. Just got to ride it last week on lots of rocky, rooty, hilly single track and two things stick out...motor is super tractable and the suspension was almost perfect out of the box. Was riding with a group of 5, all who race hare scrambles, and had no problem keeping up with 'fat boy' (they were on KTM 250/300 XCs, WR250s and 450CRF-X). Impressed..way to go Husky!

Very nice, Fat Boy.
Now all you need is a chance to use it.

FAT BOY!!! that's the pot calling the kettle black... coming from someone who has his own postcode you seem to forget that day i threw an orange at you..... "it went into orbit around your guts"

Anyway didn't clock as many km's as i would have liked over the weekend but done just over a hundred..... i'm not very happy..... i'm farrrk'n wrapped!!!, its awesome and gee it hates to wheel spin (easy to keep under control though) gunna have to get a tyre with more grip but then i spose the front wheel will be up in the air allot more. The chain stretched in the first 50 kms (i was expecting that though). Suspension feels spot on for me, might make a small adjustment but i'll get more km's on it first
a big HUSKY, top bike.

here it is in her natural enviroment

only found a little mud so didn't get too dirty

Yeah service interval for valve check is 70hrs on the TE and TXE models. This valves, but for some reason the shop manual says replace crank shaft and piston at 70hrs also! I can't believe that if it only requires a valve train check. I say misprint but i dunno maybe i am wrong.
Husquarvara supplied manuals here...http://www.husqvarnafactory.nl/pdf/2...SM_449-511.pdf
I believe these are straight from the company. If not sorry.

Went out Saturday for some single track and fire road fun. Bike behaved pretty well, flamed out a few times - doesn't seem like the JD was able to fix those issues entirely. Maybe more tweaking and i'll get it someday.

I tipped over in the tight slow going stuff probably 4 or 5 times. The bike is to tall for sure and when i go to touch down the ground isn't always there to be found. This is one of the big mud holes that will stop your bike fast and send you over the bars, luckily i made it through all of those. This is one of 2 spills for my mate on his CRF450x.

Stopped for some eat. That 010 TE450 pulls my TXE511, drag raced twice and seems jsut as strong all the way but wide open my bike was not right and bogging a bit. If i get it right it should take the 450. And nope didn't see P Swayzee's ghost.

Got home pulled off my boot and didn't know i was sporting one of these shin fetuses!
