Bought one in '03 sold it, able to get an '02 last year and love it. triple engine puts a smile on my face every time I twist the throttle. Also nice that I bought the used one for less than a third of what a new one costs

Just got a Triumph Tiger 955i
Just picked up a burnt orange 05 Tiger with brand new Metzlers and a fresh valve job and I love it, except for it's concrete-Corbin seat.
This is my first adventure bike and look forward to exploring beyond the pavement. Been riding cruisers for the past five years. |

Blue Highway
I've still got the Blue Meanie ( '06 955i Tiger). The wife and I road it up to the 2008 Inaugural Moto GP in Indianapolis. A week ago I had the 12,000 mile service done on it.

I had an 885i Tiger, first of the Girlie style. From test ride until the day I sold it, I was always thrilled by that bike. They say a KLR can do a little of everything, but nothing well. I think this bike can do a little of everything, and do it all very well. It was big and heavy when pushing it around the garage, but it felt so light on its feet, everywhere I took it, and I never had to change any of the ergos on the bike. It just fit me like a glove from day one. I bought it with 27k, sold it with 42k on it.
The only reason I let it go was that I thought the 1050 Tiger would be the same thing, only newer and better. It wasn't. I haven't owned a GS, but I can't imagine that a GS would measure up to one of these.

That being said, this time around I bought used, and only had $5K to play with when I bought my Tiger for $4200.00...it's a lot nicer than any of the $4200.00 GS's I found...

Love mine
I have been riding for 33 years and had every type of bike out there.
Sometimes 3 or 4 at the same time....I bought my '05 used in 07 and have since sold off the other bikes I had at the time. The Tiger does everything well. Pleasure on the street (triple motor is amazing) Comfortable, agile, quick, 1 or 2 up, ample storage options, lots of after market gadgets available, and as stated you can pick up a good used one for the same or less than a new much smaller cc bike with less farkles. You will also find it to be much faster than your GS. Engine pulls like a locomotive!!!! Heres mine doing a little trail riding. ![]() Happy Tiger Hunting! You won't regret the purchase.
