I have an 05 that I purchased in april. Did the fly and ride from Denver to Salt Lake city, even had to pilot through a snowstorm outside of Steamboat. I've owned lots of different street bikes and I sold them all (except for the dirt bike) after getting the Tiger. It is a joy to ride and it puts a smile on my face every time I get on it. The only thing I would replace it with is perhaps a new tiger 800.
Mine came with 3 different windshields, touratech crash bars, I installed a touratech skid plate, then a SW mototech centerstand since the factory issue doesn't fit with the skid plate. It also came with an aftermarket voltage gauge which draws a lot of attention for some reason from other bikers. It also had brand new Continental Trail attacks which are great on the street but a little slick off road. I love the motor, super smooth and powerful. As someone else stated you would be hard pressed to find a owner who doesn't love them. The only complaint most people have is its a tall saddle height. Great all around machine for a great price. If you watch the classifieds here the ones that come up for sale usually are sold quickly.

I have an '06 that was bought new to replace my beloved '02 that was totaled out.

The '06 has been the best bike- bar none- I have ever owned. It now has almost 50,000 miles on it and we've two-upped to Glacier, Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, Bad Lands and the Smoky Mountain National parks, plus a trip to the World Superbike races in Utah and a Lake Superior circle tour. Not to mention countless trips around the neighborhood.

So many roads, so little time.........

Next trip????....hopefully Alaska

That 06' is an amazing animal. I got mine to replace my 01'. The bikes are really a joy to ride. This 06' and I are connected, it's my lifer bike. The perfect blend of everything and keeps going. Triumph made this one right!

Chad where did you get the rear wheel hugger. That would go a long ways to keeping the ass end a little cleaner here.

Hello. First time posting here, so apologies if this is in the wrong thread, etc. Am looking for an '06 955 specifically to get the new-for-06 cylinder head and backlash gear, among other things. I've read that the 06 also came standard with heated grips and the center-stand.

I think I have found a great '06 and the initial VIN search confirms its an '06, the spot on the dashboard where the heated grip rocker is supposed to be is blank and there is a different type of heated grip system installed. Also, the bike is missing the center-stand. Current owner did not make these changes, so cannot tell me about these specifics. How can I confirm this is the 06 with the upgraded cylinder head,etc?

Also, how do I post pics here?

Both the heated grips and center stand were options. At least here in the US.

Corndogger you should use the SW Motech center stand as it is the only one that works with the Touratech "bash plate." I don't know about interaction with the other skid plates and the factory centerstand. I have an 06 and it didn't have a centerstand or heated grips. I installed both myself.

Also the 2006 is the only year with the clutch cover (see the photo of Victor441's bike above) that is smooth without bolts. It is the same as the 1050 engine and on the opposite side the new head has a different routing of the coolant hoses from the 05's which is also the same as the 1050.

Does anyone know if a 2005 wheel set will fit a 2006 without a doubt?
I'm looking into buying a cast set for some off road tires, maybe...I've already posted elsewhere so let me know if you know about this, thanks a bunch!

I bought an '06 a couple of years ago with 2,500 miles on it. I've added the factory gel seats, factory center stand, an MRA screen, Touratech crash bars and a Garmin Montana GPS. Other than the tank stripes bubbling up, I've had no issues what so ever with it. Love the triple. On a ride up Pike's Peak this past summer, I got to ride my cousins 2012 GS and it wasn't enough to make me want to trade off the Tiger. The Tiger has more personality, whereas the GS felt more like a well engineered transportation module. No real soul or personality.

Thought about trading the Tiger for a new Multistrada Pikes Peak edition, but can't justify the additional investment. The Multi isn't $15 grand more of a bike than the Tiger. Plus my '07 S2R 1K Monster fills my Italian V-twin needs for now. The Tiger is definitely a keeper. Another cousin of mine agrees, as he picked up a '06 Tiger for himself after riding mine.

Now if I can just get my neighbors FS570 Husaberg out of my head. Supermoto is crazy good fun!
