How High is the seat

Does a short bad kneed old guy want to look at the mid year Tigers?

Looking to replace the Uly which was too tall after the knee issues.

Any way to lower the Tiger?

75% backroad 25% gravel riding.

Regards and thanks

If memory serves me correctly, my wife was able ride my 09 Uly easier than my 06 955i Tiger.

I am a short unit with lots of broken things too, but I manage to ride the 04 tiger well enough to keep me smiling.
I suggest trying one out so you know for yourself.
The have a good bit of adjustment possible in the set-up, however you need to consider your personal abilities when it comes time to pick it up or stop it going down in the first place, as they are quite heavy.
I know plenty of people who have found the Versys to be a decent option when set up well, or the KLR if you like thumpers.
The new 700GS is rather tidy too, if you have the money for a 'new' new bike.
There are plenty of good bikes out there for the 'less young' and 'less bulletproof' of us, best idea is go and sit on a few.
Good luck

Bought my 01 with 6k and not a mark on it just a few months ago. It's the best bike I've ever owned, can't ride it enough.

I know that bike! I was surprised Doug would even consider selling it. It's definitely a good one.

Got my blue one last month and happy

It's a 2006 with 20.000 miles and it looks almost like new!
First modification I made was exchanging the stock windshield to the MRA Vario touring screen windshield mounted with 1/4 inch spacers and it made a big difference! No buffeting at my head and helmet anymore!
This was prior the windshield mod:

I used as four 1/4 inch windshield spaces this home depot rubber parts:

They fit easy and perfect between windshield and bike:

I have used to long screws... (M5)
But otherwise looking good now and the crazy wind buffeting stopped completely!

Hi,

My tiger 885i '99 has in fifth gear some kind of pulsing hum noise. .... hum ...hum ...hum ... hum .... how you describe something. The speed of the pulse goes up in proportion as I go faster.
What could that be? He drives and pulls well in five and no other strange or 'scary' sounds.

Don't know if this the right tread to post this.....

@edie: Hum...Hum is gone
New tires did the trick. From Anakee 2 to pilot road 4 trail
