I will but I'm 64 Drone's 61ish he has a sore back and knee, your older than either of us I believe are any of us going to do very athletic sidecar stuff ? I doubt it. Drone's pissed at me, I don't really give a damn, get him on something he won't be intimidated by.His steering failure was poor design an his not realizing anything that moves is subject to imparting a vibration on a moving vehicle he didn't check the right stuff before his trip. Encourage him to ride something that makes sense.DB

Maybe Jay the great would welcome a new project and give poor Ned a break with a KTM.
But ... they are nice to ride in a boxerish way, not as tall as my SE was and more linear power band, the SE was either full on or full off. Hard for me to ride in technical offroad, course the HP with the jugs sticking out wasn't easy either.

I do lust for a HP2 ... with some appropriate mods of course ... I think I'd be happy with it as an only solo bike. It would fit the bill perfectly for the Canol, CDT, most of the TAT, Trans Lab, Trans Taiga etc.

#13k is a good price as well.

Sorry for us hijacking your great side Dronie...tryring to lure you back .

Aye DA.. Wish I had her during my TransLab excursion a while back. While GS being a supposed 50/50 bike...it did alright but the HP2 with 21" front wheel...woooo...! Ah, unfortunately my SWMBO is a bit of a Hardkopf, not intentionally but for safeties sake.. " Du bist zu alt für dieses gefährliche Spielzeug". Get it??

cheers...

Very cool Dan but I watched bits of the last Dakar where they raced the twins againest the KTM's they where very outclassed, it was sad that the dry race bike with titanium and magnesium everywhere where still over 400 pounds dry.DB
THEY ARE ALL JUST EGO GRATIFICATION !!!!!!

But they are cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KTM has their shtick down pretty well. I'd like a 690 one day, almost did when I sold the SE but I wasn't sure how it would be on the highway without lots of $$ mods. Plus the reliability issue .... I'm not a naysayer but I did have a few issues with the KTM like fuel pump failure on the middle of the Trans Lab , installed the spare I brought and it lasted two days. My buddy's 950 ADV was worse, kind of F'd up the trip. All the Beemers had no issues beside crashing from too much weight

And what's wrong with a little stroking of the ego now and again .... what else do we got out of life

21" front wheel and Scott's damper made a world of difference on the TL. Can't stress enough the damper's effect in heavy gravel. I went from 80 kph and shaky to 140 kph and totally solid by turning up the damper.

BTW, that pile of stones is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claude's Got the Right Idea...

Honestly, that bike is the only oilhead to ever excite me in the slightest.
