Hey out there, has anyone installed the acerbis 20 litre tank on their 500 exc? I just got a 2013 and wondering if the evap canister or anything else has to come off to fit the tank.

I put one on mine, but I don't have the the evap canister anymore. Love the tank!

What is a good tried and true tire out there?
Dunlop 606 Dot approved, you can use them anywhere. I have 1800 miles on them so far. They wear like iron. The rear is half worn out and the front is doing real good. I ran them all summer, Highway, Rubicon, Carson City desert, CC, dual sport rides.
They are a little slippery in sand, but nothing bad. 12 PSI for dirt,14 PSI for street. They are less noisy than straight Knobbies.
Personally I think that they are easier on the drive line because knobbies slip more than regular street tires.
Balance both tires if you want a smooth ride.

I'm curious to hear this too since I've been thinking about going to a 14/52.

I've got 14/50 right now and love it. I can still hum along at 70-75 mph without revving too terribly high. And the bike pulls mightily on the trails and single track. Throttle blip over mud puddles, roots and rocks has a new meaning. Its so sweet!!!

I run 15/49 on the street and 14/49 in the dirt. I tried 13/49 and thought it was too low and spun the tire too much.

pivot pegz

Is anyone using the pivot pegz on the 2012/13 500. ? (or 350/450's)
Wondering if the fitment is the same as the 2011 and earlier KTM's.

Legit question - was thinking about adding some. I have a friend with a set on his 400 and they are real slick. I like how the spring is very strong - takes some effort to pivot and that they always return to center.

Anyone?

I had never heard of these until just now and that seems like an awesome idea!

I've really got my eye set on a pair of fastway adventure pegs though but ooh the price!

You are a lucky man,Ive never got over 1500 miles on a 606 on the back of my DR650,once the knobs are 1/4" tall I consider them toast. The Pirelli MT43 Trials tire is the only tire Ive gotten over 2000 miles on. I tend to steer by wheelspin so that may have an effect.

I had to lose the evap can to fit this tank.
