I've since ordered a replacement screen, internal clock battery from a guy in Russia, via ebay. It took a while, but they are hear, and my unit will once again be back in top-notch condition.
Maybe you will want one of these: 2GB data card

I got one and it works great.

Here is a memory backup battery for the 276c:

The Garmin 276C shows up often in the Advrider Flea market:
Search for Garmin.

All about TPS adjustment and where to get the connector is on pages 278-279 in this thread. Start with post 4156.

I am running a 5" rear rim with no issues or modifications. Just make sure you get a narrow tire such as continental attack supermoto.

It means I got it mapped to the Euro version. It a process that your dealer can do where they hook up a computer to the bike and load it with the Euro mapping, the Euro version has no smog restrictions so more power but less fuel economy.

Does this work OK with the stock exhaust or did you change or modify the exhaust?

Thanks for the reply.

Stock exhaust is fine, but you will need to remove the screen at the end. It is NOT the spark arrestor.

It was a good solution at first when the dealers couldn't load the unrestricted map on the ECU. Now that they can, the ECU remap is the best way to go.

The motor is new it will run a little hot as it breaks in....

Also the fan on the 14's comes on more as the thermo switch has been optimized

This is all new to me. My only other FI bike is a Goldwing.

Withe the remap is there anything else that needs to be done?

The "Big bottom kit" from best dualsport looks interesting. Anyone here tried that?

It will be nice to put away all those little bottles of jets I have collected over the decades.

Just to be clear,

your saying that the dealers can now update the EXC models with the XC* programming?

AND, by doing this, the engine will run richer, and thus not so hot?

3 cents

I have a 2012 500EXC. Went thru all the desmog - filter changes - added JD Tuner etc. The Best and Final mod to Superior running (it always ran real god) was to simply change the TPS to around .6 volts. Awesome difference and much needed. My gas mileage dropped down to about 50MPG but who cares!

I have NOT fooled with any mapping changes...

Good luck to all.

I suppose the next question is, what is your definition of "Superior running". Are we talking about more power, more snap to the throttle, running cooler......
