Clockworks tank

Anyone running the Clockworks 3.2 gal tank yet? Just wondering how and if it was contacting the thermostat. The samco hose kit for the bike will be avail about mid next week. Just trying to justify the $120 for the thermostat delete kit as I have a pre-revised tank in a box in my garage...

Where did you buy the RAM ball mount that attaches to your clutch perch? I want one.

Beer time.
I have used the Dirt Bagz on several bikes in the past but have has some quality problems with the bags coming apart. The company has always treated me right and replaces any broken parts but I hate when the straps fail in the middle of a ride.

I just bought the Giant Loop Coyote for my KTM 500EXC. My buddy also bought one for his 525EXC and loves it. I haven't used mine yet but hope to soon. I like that there is no frame to install on the bike and it holds 30L of stuff and is waterproof.

The Giant Loop looks like a winner.

New headlight bulb needed

I rode my KTM 500EXC in the dark for the first time the other day and now know why everyone upgrades the stock setup.

I'm trying to decide between the 35W and 45W halogen bulb upgrade from sicassracing.com

I don't want a bulb that draws too much juice and will run my battery down. I'd like to hear what others have used and what their experience has been with the 35W and 45W halogen bulbs. Both of these bulbs will go right into the stock socket with no modification and I want to retain the High/Low beam setup.

Other higher watt bulbs require a rewiring and then you loose the High/Low beam setup.

Tell Paul at HDB what bike you have and he will get you the right stuff. But yes you do have the fatbar style.
Hey thanks Toddler, that was a great thread. I'll shoot him a pm, and get some options based on what he has come up with for the 500.

Child is correct, its for an FSAE car. Unfortunately KTM aren't willing to give us any real technical details about the engine, which we need for engine simulation. To buy the 2013 engine from KTM will cost around 3700 (UK based team)

Our next option is to find a nearby enduro team who use the bike in races, in the hope they have some form of spare engine which we can measure up! Any ideas? I know David Knight uses that particular bike.

The reason we want the 2012 engine is simply due to its weight, its 2.5kg lighter than the 2011 model with reduced rotating mass. Doesn't sound like much but it all counts when the car weighs ~150KG!

Six Days

I could be completely wrong. I heard this on a video on you tube "offroad fanatic" i think. Sold out world wide for the '12 model year.
edit: I guess that could mean, sold all of them to the dealer network as well, so some might be available.

New LED headlight blub

Sicassracing.com is coming out with a new LED headlight bulb for KTM in a few weeks.

Just ordered their smart flasher assembly because after installing my LED rear turn signals, my turn signals now flash faster. This part will fix this.

Stayed up almost all night installing the following because I'm not the fastest wrench in the tool box:
1. sicassracing rear under fender (this is basically an XC/W underfender with a light for the license plate
2. sicassracing rear led turn signals
3. Promoto Billet rear rack: that was a pain to install because I had to cut plastic on the rear fender and airbox and my knife was dull and the stores were closed. If anyone can recommend a hot knife strong enough to cut the plastic of a fender, please let me know and I will buy it. This rack is slick in that the top portion can be removed from the bike to give it a clean look.

Still have to mount the Rotopax 1.75 gallon fuel container on the rack.

After cleaning up the bike, I will take some pictures and post what this setup looks like.

Didn't get much detail. I would call them directly or send them an e-mail.

Gas tanks KTM 500

Woohoo! They're available from KTM- part number

7810791324404

3.4 gallons!!!

I had ordered the Clockwork tank, which was only 3.1 gallons. However, there was a fitment issue, so they pushed back the order by a couple weeks. The remolded tanks were probably going to lose .1 gallons. I just canceled the Clockworks order!
