i fully understand this way of thinking.

ive been through 3 airheads in the last year and a half, with one vstrom in between. (probably shouldnt have sold it)

i now ride a 2013 bonneville. the closest thing i could get to a classic bike, without having a classic bike as my daily rider.

i have been given strict orders (not really, but she said no more) from the wife that i can not have another bmw airhead for a few years. i will have another airhead, but not until i have 10+ grand to buy it, tear it apart, and make it 100% perfect, with every available upgrade/service item taken care of so i am basically starting with an "as new" bike.

can't wait to see the bike finished and at the local classic bike sunday meetup.

No rain, but THICK fog (clouds?) from about 2,000ft up. Very slow going with 4-way flashers on, not fun.
Once at the top, clear sky's and sunshine... go figure.

After getting the frame powder coated, I think that it is worthwhile to use an automotive type underbody spray wax to sell off all the invisible inner parts of welds etc where the powdercoat may not have made a proper seal

FINALLY got to shot the rear frame primer. It's been wet and rainy here in SoCal for the past week so when the humidity FINALLY dropped below 60% and the temperature went above 65F I ran out to the garage and shot zinc chromate primer like a MAD MAN!!!

Swing Arm Bearing have returned home

Greased up the swing arm bearings and drove the seals home with a large socket and a brass hammer.

After some coaxing I got the rear brake master cylinder disassembled and ready for the rebuild kit I bought.

Got the rear master all cleaned up, inside and out.
Bore looked good, just some very slight pitting on the bottom, more like discoloration than true pitting.

Tools I used...

Quick coat of paint and she's ready for reassembly
