Here's what we're playing with for a simple bolt on handlebar mount, it has cutouts for Vector/Striker and Watchdog computers, if you want one bolted up top an RMS roadbook bracket can be used.
Should have the prototypes finished tomorrow and head out Thursday to test. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yep, had to make it so it bolted up to my current setup, and all that's needed is longer bolts, we'll see how it does.

I probably won't be building a rally setup anytime soon, but this thread is interesting. Thought I'd toss out another option to Velcro.
3M Dual-Lock has at least 4 times the grip strength of Industrial Velcro and available with VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive. ![]() Available all over the place, Amazon, iTapestore, etc. We have used it at our aerospace company in commercial for-flight electronics and it holds up to the most brutal vibe and thermals tests the govt required to qualify. I've had some on the dash of my 990 since 2007 and it's held up to years of direct exposure to the elements. |

Very tidy looking set-up, the only thing that confuses me is the roadbook on top and the Vector on the bottom... Maybe it's just me
but I always thought the set up would warrant the roadbook on the bottom (for weight as well)... the craftsmanship looks great though, well done! |

If say a RMS roadbook bracket was bolted up front with an odo it would create an even greater pendulum effect and an even more vunerable position for the odo, which in the case of an ICO or Watchdog is equal to or more expensive than the F2R roadbook. This is designed to accommodate the RMS Brkt if desired. RMS Brkt anodized black to cut down reflection. ![]() As a weekender I need this to be as survivable as possible with as little at risk as possible, the roadbook will almost always be vulnerable, but at least the odo can be protected well, that's one of the drivers of the design. This is the easiest of the designs we discussed prior to build, mainly on account of time constraints. I'm still working on a frame mounted fairing/light/roadbook version and will throw it out there for comments and criticisms, but I have a busy day today, need to go out and play with this and the roadbook switches and motor driver.

I find it's easier to do that if the odo is on top, makes the transition from looking at the track to looking at the odo easier on the eyes than skipping past the the roadbook every time. Also, you might need to adjust the odo plus or minus: Again, easier if -in my line of vision- the odo is just below the course instead of underneath the roadbook But hey, that's just my methodology, curious to hear other's as well |

noob question
Does anyone have a online link to a "how to" for general questions like reading road books, set up, installing roadbook etc. etc.
being a first time rally participant next month it seems I come up with a new question every day. I have googled my butt off but have only come up with car type rally info. |

Hey, I would say your best bet is searching on here,
I think either Hogwild or Neduro must have started a basic navigation 101 thread a while ago... Apart from that, the best practice you can get is at a race, so don't worry about it, go and race! A |
