WOW......that's some rough stuff for a Strom with that kind of a load on it!

Love the fix for the shifter

Regarding the GPS issues...

It sounds like you have decided to enjoy your trip the old fashion way before all the fancy gadgets.

Besides, it's not an adventure if everything goes perfect

Stay safe,

Jon...

I wish I could take the time to read through this whole thread, but sadly I do not have the time. I'm hoping some of the more experienced Montana users can help me out. I am in need of a mount for my bike. So far I have identified 3 options:

1. Garmin rugged mount ($40)
2. Ram cradle ($12)
3. Touratech locking mount ($180)

I do a lot of off-road riding, so I would like the most rugged option. It is also worth mentioning that I do NOT intend to run power to the mount. I will be relying on battery power to run the gps. Based on my criteria, which cradle would you suggest for me. Please feel free to suggest any other options that I may have missed. Thanks in advance!
+1 for the Garmin Rugged Mount.

I've used mine for well over a year, on two different bikes. Results, it's the best, simple, inexpensive mount you could buy.....seems like a waste of money going with anything else. To each his own but I've had zero issues with the mount and would do again.

Almost competed the format, prompted this volume is too big for FAT32.

Wonderful.

Makes me glad I went with a 32GB card.

On another note, I don't see a way to sort the routes that are on the Montana in any way (like, for example, waypoint sorting.) Am I just missing an obvious menu item?

They are sorted by proximity to your current location. Nearest ones first.

Nearest by start point, or some other criterion?

Yeah, just picked up a 32 gig.
Now the proud owner of a 64 gig for which I'll have to find a use.

Formatting the 32 gig as I write this.

Just a note on the 32GB card; I didn't do anything to mine other than put it in the Montana. It must have been FAT32 formatted from the get-go.

Here's hoping you have better luck now!

I don't know.

Logic would say any part of a route near you would make that show up first on the list but I can't confirm that.

Speaking of Adventures - do you happen to have a packaged "Adventure" you could share, perhaps through Dropbox? I was curious to see how they work but I don't have time right now to play with it. Doing bike work to get ready for a short holiday.

Mounting Pelican boxes takes priority.

Do you not find any interesting Adventures in BaseCamp yet?
