I looked around in main menu but cant find anything that relates to status bar. I don't know how I putsed it but also don't want to do a factory reset just to get it back

Actually, I think all you really need to do is hit the menu button at the bottom of the screen and select "Change Favorites" and add a couple there.

My understanding is that the "Acquiring Satellites" issue is resolved in 5.30. We won't know for sure until some of us running 5.30 report back :)

If you resolved your issue, no need, unless perhaps another user with similar issue finds your posts, then to show them your solution.

Certainly hope that you are correct on this. Will update my 650 and give it a try.

Hope we are talking about the FAST and NORMAL settings here.

advice?

Hoping for a quick bit of advice.

I have a Montana 600 on my 450EXC and have not had a great experience with the rugged mount.

On my last race in West Virginia, near the end of the rally, the Montana started just powering off randomly. I would just be cruising along a liaison section, look down, and bam. Blank screen. I'd hit the power button again and it would power up fine, and seem ok, charge light indicated with the lightning bolt, etc., but it would power down again within a minute or two. It worked fine all rally but gave me big headaches at the end.

I thought the power wires were loose or cracked, but I've checked all that and they're fine. The mount is actually fairly new, as I had to replace my first one due to dirt and crud locking up the lever/release mechanism.

When I pop it in the mount, it powers up and seems to be fine, but I tested it again tonight with a ride around the block and it shut off again. Arrgh...

I have another rally Saturday and really need this thing to be working 100% or I'll be completely lost.

I have a foam earplug in the battery bay. I've tried replacing the earplug but it didn't help (this doesn't seem like the "battery unsupported" issue anyway).

Would be most grateful for any advice.

I would check the electric connection to the bike.
I like solder connection best.
Anything else will be intermittent.
My guess anyway.

Is this the issue which relates to the fast map update speed?

Does the fast update make any real difference? I haven't felt the urge to try it yet but I just might now, to see if it is broken or not.

If you ride fast it does. Oh wait, you have a DR, just keep it on normal.

j/k.
