That works!!!!

Thanks

I will delete all the other .img files.

Just load the local Topo maps as needed / when needed.

One final question:

Is it possible to have CNNA for all of USA
AND
Topo 100k for all of USA loaded on the uSd card?

Pretty sure this is what I had on my original Montana.
The latest version of CNNA is only 181 tiles so you should have no issues loading it all.

Question

Quick question: Best setup for the LA-Barstow_Vegas ride this weekend?

I would like to be able to see all the tracks and use the trackback function in a sequential fashion, but all I really need is the ability to see all the tracks that make up the route...

I just received my Montana 600, have searched the thread with several different keywords and there's just a deluge of information. Just too much for me to dig through in the next couple of days...

I promise I'll browse it all in the upcoming months but for now I'd just like a quick answer like I found at Countdown's site when initially setting up my 76CSX Link

Thanks!

Unfortunately with the Montana you will have to go into Track Manager and select each track in turn then hit "Show on Map". There is no way to batch process the tracks to turn them on or off on the map.

Hint: I have found red to be the best color for tracks and you can set that in Basecamp much faster than in the Montana.

Many others here have complained that this cannot be done to all tracks at once with no response from Garmin.

The whole mount's only a little over $30. In your case I'd just order another and keep the wireless one for a bicycle or other non-powered use.

Quick question. Sorry if this was already covered. I am currently on the road and a bridge is closed on my route. Is there a quick way to prompt the GPS to re-route ahead of time?

Appreciate any help!

Add a via point in the direction you want the route to go?

The Montana does not have the Zumo and Nuvi Detour function.

If Garmin would have kept some of the usefull features of the older units you could just set a custom avoid for the section of road thats closed.

That will work but you may have to try a few different vias to get the reroute the best way.

I had to go through them as well. I couldn't get the $49 price in Canada so customer service had me buy it at full price and is refunding me the $40.

I do this with each generation to test the system. It still needs to be "fixed".

Garmin still requires you to purchase a DVD product if you want to then purchase nuMaps Lifetime Update. I no longer purchase DVD's since Garmin made it clear they wanted people to buy "downloaded" software. OK. I can download software. Now, I have again registered my objections that I can't apply a nuMaps Lifetime Update to a downloaded CNNA. The cost of the two products (Download & DVD) are essentially the same and if you stay your ground (politely) Garmin will offer to send you the DVD for the cost difference between the Download and DVD products -- which is $0. This is a Garmin internal bookkeeping issue and needs to be fixed. One way to fix the problem would be to sell ALL compatible devices with the Lifetime Maps option.

As a side note, the latest version of Garmin Express for the Mac (v2.3.7) still does not recognize the Monterra.

With my recent updated ride and GPS I'm toying with the idea of selling my Montana. But then again I could mount them both. Hmmm.
