Heck, I finally blew the dust off mine a couple days ago and used it on a short ride. The damn POS kept trying to re-calculate the short route I created even though I was on route the whole time. I really need to toss it on the for sale forum and get me a Nav V.

Mine does that when you create a route in basecamp using a different mapset
then the one that's in the Montana

It's easy to do.
Watch that drop down box in basecamp

Maybe i am misreading this but I didn't think the Montana could "Talk" to you without the (In car) mount hooked up. Let alone via bluetooth..

Don't count on Garmin adding a beep and delay to Nav Voice Directions for the Montana.

Yeah, they kept telling me that the intercom maker was to blame for the fact that I kept missing the first part of all directions. So I gave up. I figured I wouldn't even use voice directions after all, even if I could make it work. It was entirely an academic exercise for me.

Audio output from my garmin rugged mount is connected to my Sena SR10, which than sends bluetooth sound to my Sena SMH10 on my helmet.

This doesn't work for me?!?!?

It works in the car using the car mount. (Yes I have driven around with my helmet on.)

But I don't get any audio from the rugged mount on the motorcycle.

Still have some troubleshooting to do to pinpoint where the problem is.

Is there a setting on the Montana to enable audio in the rugged mount?

Any easy way to verify sound from the Montana besides loading a route and waiting for the audio turn instruction s?

the rugged mount has several wires coming out of it.
positive and negative for power
Serial data (I assume that is what is is, and can't recall if its 1 or 2 wires, and it might be in the same bundle with the power wires)
plus a cable with a 1/8" head phone plug on the end.

From this phone plug end, i run a coiled cable (male on both ends) to my Bluetooth transmitter (you might be able to plug head phones into this same jack to hear the montana).

Maybe the volume is turned all the way down on the Montana? with the montana in the rugged mount, I think if you tap the power switch, you will see volumn and screen brightness. Plus I think the montana knows what mount it is in. I am pretty sure when I put mine in the car mount, it auto switches profiles to "road" profile.

You won't get any audio directly from the rugged mount (on your bike) unless you're plugged into the audio out. In order to get bluetooth audio into your helmet you'd have to do like the fellow above and plug a bluetooth "dongle" (Sena SR10 in his case ) into the audio out on the rugged mount. That dongle then transmits the audio over bluetooth to a bluetooth-capable helmet intercom (in his case, the Sena SMH10).

correct on the sena. SR10 hooked to Montana, SMH10 on helmet(s)
Plus I use a 2 way radio on the SR10 at times.

If you do, let us know how that Nav V works out. I'll have questions! My patience is tried just about every time I use floptana - it never seems to fail to remind how it's crap at being a routing vehicle unit. Too bad it's not even a good handheld either...
