Interesting to see that you can now buy the Rugged Mount without the power cable for $27 at MEC in Canada, and I assume other places as well.

And it comes with a way to connect to your handlebars.

You don't need Basecamp to do that. Just drag the gpx file to the \Garmin\gpx folder on your sd card or the Montana itself and drop it there.

Garmin calls it the "Handlebar Mount". Part Number: 010-11654-07

It has a dual-orientation base which is really interesting.

How could it be any easier? I copied the file over to my 78S (It works the same way as the Montana) and I'm getting this kind of waypoint from that file:

The file is in gps tracks central cape loop when I try to drag over to Montana I get a circle with a slash thru it, when I "download" to PC it shows up as a php? file and is unsupported by Garmin, Ill admit im a newbie but this stuff worked on my zumo.
maybe it me or maybe it the file im trying to get on Montana.

but honestly it most likely me!!!

Thanks for trying to help.

A PHP file is "part" of the website you're downloading from. It is *not* the GPX file you're looking for... do you have a link to share so we might be able to help out?

The link he provided in his first post is all you need. Right-click the link and copy it, then paste it into the URL bar of a new tab or window, THEN remove the "file:////" to leave www and everything to the right, then hit return and you'll get a dialog box for saving the file in question. Click the save button and the file will be downloaded.

What is confusing is the text shown in the post - ignore it and look at the actual link it points to. If you hover the mouse over the link shown in the text you can see the actual link in the status bar at the bottom of your browser. Well, at least that's what Firefox shows me....

The downloaded gpx file contains a bunch of waypoints and a route.

What Operating System? Mac? Windows? Linux?

What browser are you using?

Have you tried right clicking on the link, and selecting "Save target as" or whatever it takes to save the file to your computer?

It worked perfectly for me, using Google Chrome. I ended up with a file called MO Old Bridges Bollinger County.gpx

Interesting. Had the same problem (getting .php files) with Win 7 64 bit and IE. When I opened Chrome, I had no problem getting the .gpx files.
