Finally got around to starting a Ride Report as i am just two weeks from my last day of work, and the start of an adventure I have been dreaming about for many many years.

Like What bike to ride? There is no perfect bike (They are all good :)

First part of the trip was on my 2006 1150 GSA



But after lots of discussions and thought. I decided not to ride my trusted 2006 R1150GSA with 80K + miles (probably close to 100K after this summer), but purchased a 2011 F800GS to do this ride with. Primary reason for the change is the weight of the bike and less miles. It was a huge decision to make the change as I love my 1150GSA.

Found a Demo Model sitting in the window. The guys at Ride West BMW in Seattle spent a great deal of time with me and helped me in the process. Thanks to Kerry, Dave, Omar for all your help!!




Will need a bunch of work to get it ready for the road! ....
