Got my leg iced, solid internet connection to get photos uploaded and comments posted, just had a pizza delivered, cold adult beverage, and even some english TV with spanish subtitles, and in the middle of a good novel also.

Hey Mark!

I just read about your get off. Glad that you're OK - we all know that bikes can be fixed. If Mark doesn't need any fixing - that's good. Take a few days and figure out what you need, what the bike needs and just take it easy. I read yesterday's update and was thinking about you this morning. SO GLAD you're OK.

Best wishes from all of us here...

Try this. http://www.marinetex.com/marinetexepoxyputty.html

If you are near any boat supply stores you should be able to find it. I always carry is on long rides. It has saved me a few times.

Whew, glad you are ok Mark...weird having that huge rock right there. Are you sure you didn't target fixate on that huge thing

And it may have been said, but it looks like the crash bar is the thing that punctured your case..maybe not the best design. Are those BMW or aftermarket?

I am grateful that you are for the most part fine. You'll be fine, and this event is just another excuse to really get to know the people in the area you traveling through. Enjoy the unexpected detour and welcome the new friends you will meet!

They are Altrider engine guards. But they bolt into the same place that BMW bars go....

Did not target fixate ..... Just where I lost control ..... !0 yards further it would have been a different outcome.

Indeed new friends to be made..... New experiences to have.

Thanks for following the journey. You coming to Boliva?

You don't necessarily need Marinetex. Just about any metal repair epoxy should work ( Liquid Steel, JB Weld, etc). The cleaning and prep work are important to get a good bond, then let it cure at least 24 hours.Take the engine guards off. They didn't seem to help anyway and in fact, may be the cause of the crack.

Good luck with the bike and the body healing. Cold packs initially, then warm packs. Go slow, don't rush this.
