Dude, you got off so easy . It was blood sweat and tears when I went through there. Well, hopefully you will get jailed on some easy border like Chile/Argentina to make up for it

If you want to stop and spend the night just on the Nicuragua side of the CR border, there is a beach town called San Juan del Sur. There is safe parking and a nice woman that runs a place called "Rebecca's". The woman is not named Rebecca, but it's a nice town and a nice place. The Nic/ CR border was easy for me, but a friend who crossed on a weekend got harrased pretty bad since the boss doesn't work on weekends (or holidays I guess).

Man, you are flying now. You could cross Costa Rica and/ or Panama in a day a piece ifn you wanted to.

Mark I’ve been following you ride report and your doing the trip the right way. That is, you’re enjoying it.

Too bad I’m in the states for the holidays or I would invite you two to my home in Costa Rica for laundry day and rest.

I see where a fellow inmate suggested riding through Costa Rica in one day. I promise, you don’t want to do that. It’s Christmas here also, and the traffic cops and border people who have to work the holidays are not happy and want some propina (extra cash, bribe), please don’t be the one who will have to pay for their misery, which then will become yours.

The easiest and fastest way south it from Nicaragua border to Puntarenas / Caldera port then south down the pacific road. Otherwise you will need to go through San Jose and take the Pan Am or mountain road south. Slower and bad roads with a lot of truck traffic.

Enjoy and have a great ride.

Merry Christmas from Orange Beach, AL. RTR

Thanks. I have been forewarned. Thanks.

I am probably crossing into Costa Rica Christmas Morning, and heading to San Jose...... Meeting up with a few other riders in the city. YThen some exploring around Costa Rica before going to Panama to get myself to South America.

Will be on my own as Sherri met up with another rider yesterday that she rode with in mexico and they headed off today to an volcano. I needed a rest day. Might meet up with then in San Juan Del Sur.

Radioman, I have a question?

In some of your pics I see a long camera thingy attached to your bars. What type of mount is it and where did you get it? Still really enjoying your ride report, keep it coming. . . . .

Merry Christmas to everyone that is following me along this journey. Hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas with our family and friends! My the reason for the season be clear for you! Hug your loved ones and tell them they are important!!

I am in Playa El Coco which is a beach just 10 miles south of San Juan Del Sur. It is a awesome little beach and there are some Turtles just down the beach about 3 KM that I hope to see tonight!!

PS: Sherri had ridden to an Island with anther Motorcycle traveler, Kevin who she had ridden with up in Mexico. But she then had bike trouble Not really sure since ZI am not with them. But something to do with the fuel. She had a mechanic trying to help her as of about noon. Maybe it will get running and I will see them at the border tomorrow? If not .... it will be a solo crossing of the border. Let the fun and Games begin!

Feliz Navidad!
