Hello Soph,

Riding Solo or riding with a partner both have advantages.

Solo you can just make all the decisions about the day, the ride, stopping whenever and wherever you want. You need to step out and socialize a bit more or you could get lonely if you isolate yourself. Costs go up as you are getting single rooms.

While riding with someone else you have to adapt to them and they to you. It has some trade off's but you gain the "security" and help if you have problems. You can share in the decisions about where and when to go. You can split room cost which helps in the financials of being on the road for a long time. If you communicate well, you can maintain your own "space".

James and I have got on well, so it has been good riding with someone else. . We plan to ride the next 4-5 weeks, then our paths will split to do various other things (more on this in a few weeks ). But depending on our choices we might meet up with further down on South America. We will all see.

Last thought I know that I would not want to ride in a larger group as the dynamics can really change your trip. But that is just for me. James can pipe up and comment if he likes

Can you take the time to explain the charging setup that you have for your Macbook, please? Do you have to involve inverters and the like? How do you keep your camera(s) charged? Really appreciate your reports and the time it takes to share with us. Vaya con Dios.

All the power is 115. so I plug in my MBPro most nights holds for 5-6 hours. It can be a challenge in that there are usually not too many outlet in the rooms. I have a 1 into 3 power outlet with me and James has a long extension cord.

Have multiple batteries for my GoPro and Cameras. Just have to keep on them to keep it all charged.

Hope that helps. It is lots of stuff to carry, but great fun to share the video!
